Hi Rebekah,
We have not communicated for many years now. I used to get your
AMRIS newsletters. The last I heard in about early 2002 was that you
were seriously short of funds and that you were not sending out
newsletters any more. You still had, however, a no-kill sanctuary
for rats, mice and others.
You might remember our e-mails in around early to mid 2001. I am the
rat lady from Cape Town, South Africa. Now, I live in the UK with my
vet surgeon/animal rights leader man. We are coming to Australia in
April, and will be hosted by the AAHR. We are to give a series of
lectures, public meetings, radio debates, and other interesting
events all to do with animal rights and science. Helen Rosser gave me
this e-mail address of yours. She tells me that you are rescuing
injured ducks. (?) Whatever happened to AMRIS? Do you still rescue
rats and other small animals?
Rebekah, it would be nice to resume contact with each other, and to
meet when we are in Australia. We will be based in Melbourne but
will be going to Sydney to appear live on ABC. Exciting stuff!!!
Please let's get together.
Meanwhile, I have become a member of the Rat Fan Club in the USA, and
my last little rat boy, Little Friend, was chosen as rat of the week
and put on the website. This was in January last year. I was so
proud. He died last April at a very good age. He was a very special
little boy. I don't have anyone now, and so it would be good to see
all of your little ones if you still have the sanctuary.
Do take care, and continue the good work you are doing in the name of
our little friends.
I look very forward to hearing from you - soooooooon! Please give me
your news!
