hi, my name is beck, and i live on bribie island in qld.

recently i saw an ad on the local community notice board. it read that
a person on the island wanted pet rats, any size, m+f, for breeding.

this didn't ring true with me. so, i took down the card, went home and
rang the number, pretending to be a snake owner looking for food for
my snake.

turns out this is exactly the type of business this person is setting
up. still, snakes have to eat. by the way i have four beautiful
female ratties at home. when i asked how she killed the rats she
replied, i put them in my freezer, and they just go to sleep!

i don't know the 'best' way to kill a rat, but i know its not by
freezing. imagine the sheer terror they would go thru, and the awful
pain. i've contacted the rspca, but they haven't taken any action, and
don't seem too concerned, although they did agree that freezing the
rats was not the way to go.

any suggestions to stop this?
