On Wednesday, 15 December, class will be taught by Dr Danny James Sensei (4-dan) from our Griffith University club. James Sensei is an eclectic budo researcher. One of his areas of interest is the analysis and integration of basic exercises. Next week, James Sensei will explore the connection between kumitachi and our three ashi waza from the warm-ups (changing hanmi, moon shadow -- lizard legs and cutting). He will then examine how these principles have application in taijutsu.
James Sensei works in the field of sports performance telemetry. He will present a paper at a conference in Japan next September entitled "Dynamics of a swing: A study of classical Japanese swordsmanship using accelerometers".
After class we will probably eat pizza and drink beer at our local restaurant.
Hope to see you all there.
regards
Andrew
