Hi Natalie
If driving long distances is a problem for you, why don't you advertise and start a group going in your home town. Put up notices, and in the paper, have a small gathering and demo at your home to start with, then you would be surprised to find how many people will be interested in joining you on a regular basis. My sister is a spinner, and went to a fairly isolated town in WA, no spinners there, so that is what she did. She had a large following, and eventually they met in a place central to them all, in the town. Even though she has now left the town, the group still goes on nice and strong, so the news is. Try it, Nat.....it can't hurt. You may even be able to get a couple more experienced feltmakers from the Guild to come up and help demo, have some fibres available in kit form packs for sale on the day, get them to bring a plate for lunch to share the first time round, then after, bring their own lunches. Don't charge for first time, except for fibre to be sold, or get a donation for the Tsunami fund or similar. Ideas can be forthcoming all the time.
Best of Luck
