I have been known to use only 47 grams for a complete shawl that measured 2.5metres long and 75 cm wide at finished product.  In other smaller scarves, I weigh out 30 grams only, and try to use less than that, but sometimes I use it all.  I love to try to get them gossamer fine with no holes if possible, because I love the challenge of creating something really very fine.  And besides, the weather over here in the Wild West, does not call for thicker scarves, especially if you happen to be experiencing night sweats or day sweats, or any other type of sweats at the age of .......(maturity).
