Hi all
Welcome back Meg. The list's been very quiet lately. Hopefully everyone is busy feltmaking.
Good to hear from you Julie. I hope some of our rain comes your way soon.
As well as being the wettest winter we have had in Sydney for many years, it is also the coldest - which is great for making and wearing felt. I find it hard to even look at wool in the heat of summer :-)
Your wall hanging sounds intriguing - please post some photos when you are finished. And have fun with your Huskystar!
I have been busy since I got back from the Convergence. I have made one felted hat for the Alice Springs Beanie Competition and 9 felted hats for their market. I also sent off 3 scarves which I made last year to the Melbourne Scarf Festival. I'm hoping that some of it will sell so that I can finance my new Ashford Drum carder.
I'm also hoping to make a nuno scarf, a wallhanging and a sleeveless jacket in the next 10 days for the Woolcraft Competition in Bendigo but I think I'm being a bit optimistic!
I've also been taking part in lots of craft swaps on a world wide craft website called Craftster. I recently received a lot of Kool Aid from the USA (for those who don't know this is a brightly coloured powdered drink mix which I would never drink, but which is great for dyeing wool) so I'm going to experiment with some dyeing of tops and silk hankies.
Is anyone still interested in the fibre swap? I'm happy to organise it if people would like to go ahead.
Hope everyone else is well - let us know what you've been up to.
Wendy
