He everyone & welcome to all new members,
It's been a while since I posted, so I've lost count of who all the new
members are. I do catch up with the emails & occasionally with the
pictures, as I don't actually go to the Yahoo site very often - the ads
annoy me.
As many of you know,I haven't been felting for a while, as my back has
been such a nuisance & I've also been tied up with family (sick
daughter, her son & sick son & his sons, as he is their full time carer)
It's been a lot of fun looking after the littlies (they are from 9months
to 2). However, it has aggravated My problems. I'm having an MRI
tomorrow, then see the neuro surgeon later in the day. I don't suppose
that he can do much, but I may end up having an epidural to alleviate
the pain.
Meanwhile, it's down the hydro pool as often as possible.
I'm slowly getting my workroom sorted out, so that I can get back into
felting again. small prefelts are what I can manage. Laying up anything
big is just too taxing.
I'm going to Melton in 2 weeks to have a day with Mary-Rose Wilson.
She's giving my some tuition on my Roberta spinner as there's no-one
down this way who uses one all the time & who can set me straight. My
friends who have one only use it for plying. That's not what I want. I
want to improve my skills, as they are very basic.
I've been knitting a lace hat in cotton. What an interesting
experience. The stitches kept slipping off the 4 needles in the early
stages, as the cotton is so soft. I got on to the circular needle as
soon as I could. I didn't think to use 2 circular needles in the first
place, like you can with socks. Something to store up for memory. I'm
now knitting some multicolour baby merino socks on those 2 circular
needles, as I like soft wool bedsocks, but hate standard bedsock patterns.
I've sooooo much fleece, tops and batts that I really do have to get
back into it. Thank goodness my husband doesn't know how much is really
in here. He'd be all for throwing it out, he likes doing that!
Must go now, so ttfn to all of you. Happy felting & whatever other
crafts you can make the time to do, as they are so fulfilling.
