Hi Natalie,
What a find!
I would be interested in the answers to your questions. What about putting it to the expertise on the feltmakers list?

Subject: [AussieFeltmakers] Well Hello! Hello fellow felt lovers!I have just joined the list as you can all see. Thanks sandie for starting it up.As you may know I live in Elphinstone - Castlemaine, Victoria.I am an alpaca ,tussah silk girl.Up till tonight I had never owned a sheep's fleece! But was told about the Kyneton wool store, so I trotted on down and found myself a near 3kg of lovely cream/white cross bred fleece - with no V.M and a very soft feel.the guy who runs wool store tells me its 30 mic, but when I got it home to check it with a 28 mic alpaca I had , I found it looked finer - anybody know why?Is it that the c.v count is lower than alpaca?I have found that a low c.v count on a high mic alpaca could feel much softer than it read.I was also wondering why I got this fleece for only $10.00 - wow.when I have seen 30 mic fleece going for $25-30.00 per kg on the net?I do tow shows a yare in Castlemaine, one winter and one summer, so I am madly felting for our summer show.*Natalie*
