Did you not go on a weekend away not so long ago?

It would be wonderful to get away some time - but how do i find a person with multi task knowledge to look after the many different pets i have.lol

 

I am starting to try my hand at  some felted home items like a cushion.

I have been wanting a lime green and lilac cushion for my bed for age's and could not find it, so i have decided to make it!

So i plan to use some of the bright green fibre i got from the fibre exchange - i am sorry but i do not remember who sent. - but love the colour!

 

On a felt note, can anyone tell me why i found the pick merino roving from Elly hard to felt?

Elly's fibre was the first time i had used  roving.

It took a bit longer than alpaca and i even felted it twice, because i was not happy with it to start.

 

 

I know you are all probably sick of hearing about my fibre finds but i just have to tell someone!

 

So here i go again, I went off to kyneton again to get some true black fibre but i do not seem to be able to find any -raw that is- anyway, i did find a truly yummie soft grey 18 micron or lower,  merino fleece all 5 kg of it!

So very very soft and only for $4.00 per kg!

While i was there i also got a what they call black 20 micron merino fleece- but it is really a dark  solid chocolate colour. - this was only $2.00 per kg.

 

Does one have to buy dyed roving to get true black?

 

I also tried to make a bag out of the black alpaca batt from margerat peels but it did not want to felt really well and just kept losing fibre every time one touched it, even when dry!

I still have a 200gram batt left untouched, i hate it and will not be using it again, it cost me $20.00, somebody can have it for $12.00 if they know how to use it.

And no, i have not said anything to Tracy incase it's me and not the fibre.!

 

What i don't understand is .... how can the wool store sell such stunning fleeces SO VERY CHEAP?

I went  to some of the Internet sites in OZ that sells merino  and the grey fleece would have cost me $80.00 per kg.

 

On to a new subject .. i have started to hand knit, does anyone know of a good easy to follow book i could buy for around $15.00?

 

I am also looking for a bond amazing sweater machine - can anyone help?
