Sessions;
With many of the Home Grown Roots artists recording their tracks for the
upcoming compilation as well as the usual sessions the Balmain studio is
bursting at the seams;
Rocking blues act Chicken Head have re mixed their track for the album
(originally tracked at BJB) with Russell Pilling.
Jesse Morris and the Project have been recording an EP inlcuding their Home
Grown track and this time Jesse enlisted the help of friend Leroy Lee(currently
supporting Missy Higgins)
to guest on some songs - Leroy (pictured) will also be appearing on the Roots
compilation with his own contribution -Blowing Smoke as heard on Triple J
Van Sereno is back from overseas and has 2 different projects on the go down at
the studio.
Perth producer Brendan O'Brien used the DG's 2" tape and classic analog gear to
track the beds for the next Garth Adam release wcih will be mixed in Perth.
Alice springs boys Zenith (recently supported Hilltop Hoods in NT) make the trip
to Sydney this month to track a new album at the studio with Marshall Cullen
producing and Russ Pilling behind the console.
Central coast politically minded rocker Kaijin treks down to the big smoke also
to start work on a new set of songs.
The Golden Age continue work on their tracking sessions from last month with
Russell.
Alex Rousos will be lining up for Home Grown Roots and has remixed an existing
track at the studio for his inclusion.
Klia Zuka has returned to recod her Home Grown track and used well known skins
man Lloyd G(Friends of man) for the sessions.
Finally Andrew Beck will be working with a 'country soul' act this month- quite
a departure from his usual fare.
The Red Stairs Room has seen many a session as well with voice overs, audio
books and even a childrens yoga cd (by Cheire Price) being recorded.
Engineering duites shared by Andrew Beck and Pete Holz.
Patrick Carr and producer Paul Scott used the room to finish overduns for his
new album with new DG';s guy Peter Holz - engineering.
Mastering
William Bowden's state of the art room remains as popular as ever with a host of
projects including the new album from Jude Elliot (Adelaide), Teenagers from
Tokyo and many more.

Submissions are now closed for volume 1, artists may submit for volume 2
throughout the year but the release will not be until 2007.

Myspace Deal
The DG's myspace recording special www.myspace.com/damiengerard is going strong.
Kristy Coote from the Austtralian chapter of the songsalive group is the latest
selection from myspace to win the reduced rates deal and wil be recording
towards the end of the month. Biscuit continue their work with final mastering
coming up with Andrew Beck in the Red Stairs budget mastering room.
