Cass Eager launches her 'Beautiful Day' on Australia



She's played for our troops from East Timor to Eygpt, toured across US/Canada
three times, and even given Prince Harry guitar lessons!

And now Cass Eager returns home to launch her debut album 'Beautiful Day' in
Australia at The Vanguard next Sunday August 12.

'Beautiful Day' (out now through littlebliss/MGM) has already charted in the Top
10 on Canadian Radio (Festival) and debuted at No.12 on the US Roots Music
Report. In Oz, the single of the same name is enjoying airplay on Triple J, ABC,
and was Nova Unsigned Find. Tracks Mag has given it an impressive 4/5 review.
'Cass Eager's voice has an alluring timbre and her vocals are sung with the kind
of heartfelt sincerity that makes you want to believe in every word she utters .
. . Several of the songs, like 'Beautiful Day' in particular, will have you

Cass's sound travels the gamut from soul to blues, folk to gospel and roots to
reggae. Her distinctive pipes and guitar playing have drawn comparisons to
everyone from Bonnie Raitt to Jack Johnson, Nina Simone and Ben Harper . . .
with a hint of Janis Joplin always thrown in. Despite these comparisons, 'soul
sister Cass is no pale imitation' (NDL). She's been described as 'one of
Sydney's most gifted singer-songwriters, whose refreshingly honest, raspy,
almost Joplin-esque like voice is hers alone, and whose eclectic songwriting
will spellbind the listener.' (Drum Media).

In the last year in Oz, Cass has played the Rip Curl Surfing & Music Festival in
Bells Beach (VIC), Broadbeach Blues Festival (QLD), Peats Ridge Festival (NSW)
and the Vintage Blues & Roots Festival (WA). Overseas, Cass has showcased at
NXNE and CMW (Canada) and SXSW (USA) as well as her own tours through NYC &
across Canada. Her humanitarian efforts in East Timor (having toured there 5
times) led to 'Beautiful Day' appearing on 'Timor-Leste - Freedom Rising'
compilation CD, along with artists such as John Butler, Missy Higgins, Kasey
Chambers & Paul Kelly. And Cass has already performed with the likes of The
Beautiful Girls, Alex Lloyd, Diesel, Lior, Paul Kelly and Jeff Lang. Coming up
in 2007 Cass is touring with Ash Grunwald, and to her own growing oz fan base at
festivals and shows across WA, QLD, VIC and NSW on a national 'Beautiful Day'
tour. The single will also appear on the 'soundslikecafe' Cafe sampler CD (MGM).

On stage, Cass is herself armed with an acoustic and lap steel guitar, electric
ukulele and stompbox. But Cass will be performing with her full band at The
Vanguard, including Dave Marsalis (Yothu Yindi, Tim Finn), Paul Searles
(Skunkhour, Jenny Morris), Greg Royal (Tambalane, Wendy Matthews, Liz Martin)
and Jan Rynsaardt (Freeway, Chase The Sun), and special guests. Support on the
night is Wesley Carr, who has gone solo since his band Tambalane (a
collaboration with Silverchair drummer Ben Gillies) and other musical ventures
with the likes of Andrew Farris (INXS), Don Walker (Cold Chisel), Missy Higgins,
Paul Mac, Endorphin and Abby Dobson.
