MEDIA RELEASE
MEI LAI SWAN LATEST NEWS! MAY 2008
Since signing to ecelectic boutique label Vitamin Records earlier this year for
the release of her debut mini album - The Morning Tree - cello-playing,
singer-songwriter Mei Lai Swan from Alice Springs has also pricked the attention
of the National Youth Network with Triple J awarding her the top song unearthed
prize for the Northern Territory winning her a trip to Sydney last month to
attend the APRA song summit and she also managed to squeeze in a live show at
the iconic Cat and Fiddle in Balmain.
Now to follow up from the release - which see's the Morning Tree stocked across
the country in major chains such as JB Hifi and prominently placed on the worlds
number one online music store Itunes
- Mei Lai will be hittng the promotion trail with a series of shows, interviews
and recordings culminating in a new single/EP release and an all states National
tour in spring.
The single is made possible by yet another mark of recognition for Mei Lai via a
Recording grant from the Australia Council and will also be released by Vitamin.
The Channel V feature with Jane Gazzo filmed at the Fuse Festival earlier this
year has now gone to Air and a video clip is being created from the footage as
well.
This National exposure and a chance spotting at the Balmain show has now lead to
interest from management in Los Angeles.
There is no doubt this talented young lady will continue to make her mark on the
Australian scene for many years to come and lets hope she doesnt leave our
shores just yet.
While we await the tour you are able to catch her at the following upcoming
