Nick and Liesl first appeared on the Australian Scene with a track each on the
Home Grown Roots compilation back in 2006.Since then they have relocated to the
NSW Central Coast and recorded their debut EP 'Wyong River'(MGM) to be launched
at The Basement Tuesday August 19.



With Liesl hailing from Sweden the pair have quickly established them selves as
a fave on the coveted European Summer Festival circuit where they are completing
their second tour as this goes to press. The pair will return to our shores in
time for the launch and their appearance at this years CoastFest at The Entrance
which looks like attracting people from all over the country with its impressive
line up.



No strangers to the Australian live scene either the pair have been out on two
East Coast tours and played numerous regional festivals and street fairs over
the brief two year span along with extensive shows in and around the central
coast leading to the title track ' Wyong River '.



The EP was recorded at the couples home studio over the course of approximately
twelve months and they enlisted seasoned professional Rod McCormack to mix and
master the CD at his handy Central Coast Studio. Unlike their separate tunes in
the beginning the studio album is under the simple moniker Nick and Liesl as a
two piece with multi instrumentalist Nick filling in Rhythm Section duties on
some tunes.



Having both played the Vanguard and other Sydney rooms on separate occasions the
Basement show will position the pair firmly in the roots genre which they evoke
so well on the EP. Sarah Howells of Triple J certainly thinks so having already
spun the track on her influential 'Roots N All' show.

.Also appearing on the night will be Tim McMillian (a favourite at the venue)
and Kelly Marie.
