What you should know about Lana De Angelis;
As a precocious 14 year old, she bravely (and perhaps a little too
enthusiastically!) took on the seedy microcosm that is the Sydney Music Scene.
Rocking up at dingy pubs on a school night, her acoustic guitar on one arm and
her mum often on the other, Lana was sharing drinks with bar flies and singing
folksy protest songs while her classmates were hanging at the local mall.
Though not the most conventional way to earn some pocket money, these early
encounters with the local songwriting set triggered a deep affinity for the
simplicity of lyrics and melody, and set our dread locked heroine on a path much
more fulfilling than the one offered by her conservative catholic high school.

What you should know about Mei Lai Swan;
The branding 'unique' is bandied about far too often when it comes to musicians
and the art they practice - but in the case of cellist and songstress Mei Lai
Swan it's entirely appropriate. Originally from Melbourne, she moved to Alice
Springs for what was supposed to be a brief stint in the desert and more than
two years later has the red dirt stuck under her fingernails and can't seem to
leave. Instead she has emerged onto the national music scene with a stunning
debut EP titled 'The Morning Tree'. A collection of 6 and a half songs that
travel effortlessly back and forth between genres, with arrangements including
full strings, horns and breakbeats, 'it is the lush sound of the cello and her
unique captivating voice that make Mei Lai's music so enticing' (Triple J
Unearthed). The depth and enchanting quality of her lyrical music is grounded in
a love of songwriting, a gift for the unexpected and a keen sense for just being
human.

What you should know about DEXTER MORPH;
Like a funkified psychedelic Woody Guthrie, Dexter Moore certainly put the
mileage behind him as he spent his early years hitching and busking around the
world. As one of his self portrait lyrics portrays in a tribute to Jack Keroac
'Desolation angel, just a dharma bum, Lonesome traveller on the road' This is a
seasoned traveller whose only inspiration was to live the artists way and to
keep the music real. Here then is an artist walked away from a major record deal
in London in order to keep his integrity intact rather than become one of those
who would become what the industry wanted them to be.

Brothers Anthony Castellano (lead vocals and bass) and Mark Cass (vocals and
drums) had kicked around in the Sydney music scene since the mid 90's in a
variety of musical projects, paying their dues and honing their skills, but
lacking a sound to set them apart from the myriad of bands on the scene.
Transit-Inc's first incarnation came about in 2005, but it wasn't until they
discovered their musical soul mate in Rob Russ (vocals and guitar), who helped
them re-define how the Cass brothers thought about and engaged with music.
