Damien Gerard Studio News - AUGUST 2009



On the equipment front the big news this month is DG's has upgraded to HD Pro
Tools, the rig is available in either of the two studios and is running Apogee
front end/clock, DCS Converters and a Mac Quad Core- checkout the red stairs pic
below. There also some new Neve style Preamps on the way which if the demo model
is anything to go by are amazing! oh and if you are seeing these great new
pictures (more on the website) a big thankyou for a thoroughly pro job must go

LATEST SESSION NEWS: - Highlights Include;
Paul Turner-Russell has been mixing songs for the forthcoming album while Paul
has been OS touring in Europe - the net is a wonderful thing for checking mixes
remotely!

Simon Holmes - Makes a welcome return to the studio producing a new ongoing
project - thnaks for those Mojos and Uncut to freshen up the magazine rack!!

Scout TV- Jaimie Carter and the team from Scout have adopted DG's main live
room(see top pic) as their shooting space and will be in each month to film
every new episode - numbers one and two are already done and online with episode
3 filming this month.

The Black Catapult- Rocking Queenslanders have recently made the trip down
south to record their debut EP with Russell on the 5 day Deal including
mastering and manufacture.

Ben Slip - An even bigger trip is being made this month by Ben Slip coming all
the way from Alice Springs ! torecord a new single with Russell - Ben first
recorded at DG's at the old Ultimo facilty and has been back every few years
ever since.

Stephanie Cherote will be using one of her musicoz 2008 prizes to spend three
days in the studio tracking and mixing a new single with Russell engineering.

Other notable sessions in the usual busy monthly schedule include - Tim
Walker, The Destitutes, Jesse Morris, Nick and Liesl,
