FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Febuary 1st 2008

Byron Bay Band Very Unique Existence break through to independent success story!

In this time of transition from the traditional major label model to a more
artist driven industry many barriers still exist for a young act aspiring to
commercial recognition but one new aussie band from the new south wales north
coast seems to be breaking them down quite comfortably with radio adds both in
Australia and the USA as well as Retail Chain airplay in Europe.

Since testing songs mid 2007 on an early issue of their EP and receiving spot
plays on Triple J, MMM Brisbane and regional stations as well as amassing a huge
presence on myspace with an intriguing idea

of fully involving their audience and feedback in all aspects of the bands
career -all leading to the current figure of 99000 plays and counting. The new
remastered, repackaged CD now includes a bonus DVD and has already scored the
band the Music Network Hit Pic and Emerging Artist piece in the Jan 18th issue.

This has already resulted in no less than 16 ATB Adds(see Feb 4 TMN) across
regional commercial radio across NSW and Queensland for the first single 'Take
It Easy' - stations such as NEW FM, 2ZZZ, Power, Max, Hot 91, 104.7 Grafton
and many more have all embraced the bands own self defined brand of 'Positive
Consiousness Rock' .The SBA Network have added both the single and video while
Mood Media/DMX have taken things one step further with 4 of the five tracks
added to their playlists and the single championed as the number one pick from
Australia for their European Channels-see www.moodmedia.com.au

The European response is totally in line with the bands strategy of expanding
their audience reach using new technologies to get their music everywhere
possible and the USA is no exception - the simultaneous radio push going on
there as we speak has so far resulted in the band breaking into the TOP 30
College Radio charts in only the second week of promotion with some stations
reporting Top 10 plays as well as high level rotation to over 2.5 million
internationally on the Moozikoo and Radio X network

To back up the release there is a 45 date regional and metro tour already booked
which commenced where else but the Beach Hotel in Byron on Jan 31st - the tour
takes in towns such as Lismore, The Gold Coast, Bellingen, Port Macquarie and
more before heading into the cities - for full tour dates see www.thevue.com.au
.

The CD EP with bonus DVD clip (high rotation on Nightlife Video) is distributed
by MGM and with more radio support sure to come on board and management already
sniffing the future looks bright
for these 4 guys from Byron Bay.

Blending influences from Silverchair to the lighter side of Kyuss, Take it Easy
will play well on multi-formats. The group, which has built a strong fan base
by actively involving fan feedback into song
writing and delivering rocking live shows locally and internationally, is a
more than healthy introduction to local radio. Don't take it easy on adding this
one! The Music Network JAN 18 2008

Hello Everyone :)

I hope you are all going well this year. I hope you don't mind me asking for
your help.

I am playing at the huge St Kilda Festival here in Melbourne on February 10,
with my band of Paige Boys. I am independent of record companies and so
on...and have been steadily plugging away on my originals band, gigs,
recordings etc. but not much exposure beyond what I can muster at gigs and
from awards etc.

Now,I ask you to please vote for me at:

  <http://www.stkildafestival.com.au/vote> www.stkildafestival.com.au/vote

You don't have to register or anything, just click on the vote for bands
link on the page. It is really simple. Just choose Jessica Paige as the
artist you vote for my band and we stand to win $5,000 plus a spot on the
Big main stage next year - we are already in the top 10 bands in the
running.

Let me know when you vote and I will be delighted to send ( by email) you an
MP3 track for your ipod etc.

Many thanks!

Jessica

It's web-based contact management software designed specifically for musicians.

theskinnytree is the brainchild and collaboartive effort of several Austin, TX
based touring
musicians. we built it for ourselves so we know it's useful.

BUT WHY FREE??? Yeah, well it won't always be. To shoot you straight, in a year
or so it'll
probably cost $25/year for solos and $55/year for bands. Not much, but still not
free. So
you're right.

However, we're working on a way that if you help us promote the site, you can
still get it for
free. But all that's a long way off. Right now it's absolutely FREE. Enjoy and
please give us
feedback.

thanks

GROW YOUR OWN - UPLOAD 2 SUBMISSIONS CALL!

GYO has been around for over 10 years now and has the enviable reputation of
being one of the few indie compilations taken seriously by the industry as a
snapshot and showcase of unsigned artists across the country.

GYO has a proven track record of giving unsigned artists a step up in the
industry. Through the media, marketing and promotional activities that surround
each release, bands are able to further do what they love by getting their music
heard and having the opportuinity to network and develop releationships with
other independent bands.

GYO offers independent bands the chance to have one of their tracks recorded in
a professional studio under the guidance of an experienced studio
engineer/producer, the finished product is a track that is market ready and of
radio airplay standard. The GYO compilation series is an outstanding opportunity
to shop your hottest track to radio and industry, and also provides independent
acts with an affordable alternative to the release of an expensive seperately
manufactured single.

The past success stories speak for themselves, here's a quick snapshot from over
the years: -
a.. Sick Puppies (now signed worldwide and a household name in the USA)
b.. Faker ( signed to EMI)
c.. Noogie (signed to Trauma/BMG USA in 1999 and toured in USA. Later signed
to universal Australia)
d.. Montana (signed locally to laughing outlaw and in the UK to sanctuary)
e.. Peabody ( Shock and Ivy League. Got their start years ago on vol 2)
f.. Hailer (Number One triple J Unearthed)
g.. Angelik (2 x touring grants via DOCITA)
h.. The Wednesday Society (WAM song of the year -Rock category, and WA
Triple J unearthed from upload one)
i.. The Honey Palace (national touring on the back of Upload One)
j.. The Black Stars (Debut EP produced by Phil Mckellar (Grinspoon) + 4 out
of five tracks played onTriple j)
