An unusual find, Mei Lai Swan is a cello-playing songstress living in the

debut EP titled The Morning Tree. A collection of 6 and a half songs that
travel effortlessly back and forth between genres, with arrangements including
full strings, horns and breakbeats, 'it is the lush sound of the cello and her
unique captivating voice that make Mei Lai's music so enticing' (Triple J
Unearthed).

The Art of Men CD - seeking male artists for new compilation

The Art of Men CD celebrates talented male artists from around the world,
delivering songs in a tapestry of different genres & styles of music
dedicated to messages empowering human equality, communication and vitality.
The compilation series is associated with the already critically
acclaimed Females On Fire series, produced by Warrior Girl Music, which
celebrates over 100 talented female artists from around the world through
its three double compilations.  To properly create balance where balance is
due, Warrior Girl Music is very excited to announce a compilation dedicated
to magnificent male artists, equally looking for recognition, promotion and
elevation in the music industry.

The Art of Men CD invites male solo artists and male fronted bands to
apply to be on the compilation. (It's absolutely ok for female musicians to
be in the band, but the voice must be male). A panel of judges will choose
the best songs submitted to be selected for the compilation. Your song must
be positive, motivating and inspiring and embraces global and human issues
that we can all relate to and be inspired by. Promotion and distribution are
directed to music supervisors (film and television), music publishers,
national music conferences & seminars, record labels, the media (print and
radio), producers, and artists looking for songs. The CD is a perfect
vehicle for artists to access the music industry, the media and make
potential long lasting business relationships for their music. Retail
distribution includes direct sales through the Warrior Girl Music Store and
distributors in the U.S, Canada and Australia.

are you our next artist?

Go to http://www.artofmencd.com for details and application.

MEDIA RELEASE

MARCH 2008

As many Independent Artists find their niche in 2008 those of foghorn's stable
are finding an open ear in the media to kick off 2008 and coincide with touring.

2008 is set to be an exciting year for Foghorn, with plenty of media activity
for new releases from talented artists such as: The Woodenelves, Jude Elliot,
Chickenhead, Very Unique Existence, Penny Coco, Illicit Eve and Mei Lai Swan. A
new SoundsLike Café at Home retail compilation CD has been released with 'Grow
Your Own Upload 2' and Home Grown Roots Volume 3 to come later this year.

Jonathan Moran of the Sunday Telegraph gave Jude Elliot(MGM) a rave review for
her latest album Gentle Glimpse of Waking, awarding her a 'stellar effort' and
commending the diversity of her songs. Jonathan has also commended Very Unique
Existence and their debut EP likening them to Powderfinger and Jet (more on
V.U.E below).

Chickenhead(Itunes) is 'simply smokin' according to Paul Robinson's review in
the latest February edition of QANTAS Inflight magazine The Australian Way..
Referring to their mini album Jack of Diamonds as having 'Dirty, stompin', raw
blues power'.

Very Unique Existence caught the ear of Michael Smith(Drum Media), who
expressed that the group delivered 'a crisp, strong and confident musicianship'
with their new EP Everyone. The four piece from Byron Bay have been receiving
plenty of media attention, with a review and emerging artists article in the
January 18 edition of The Music Network, commercial radio playlist adds around
the country and even college radio chart activity in the USA.

As young emerging artists, they are predicted to evolve into a 'worldwide
crowd-pleasing machine' in 2008 and judging from the fact that they have just
completed interviews for Rolling Stone mag and Billboard USA its not far wrong.

Mei Lai Swan is releasing her EP The Morning Tree(Vitamin), kicking off her
launch shows on the 28th of Feb with The Fuse Festival in SA. Mei Lai has been
described as 'absolutely beautiful' by Jacinta Parsons (Triple R radio) as well
as having Triple J Unearthed comment 'it's the lush sound of cello and her
unique captivating voice that make Mei Lai's music so enticing'.

Perth act The Woodenelves(MGM) are on an absolute roll this year, following on
from supports with The Black Crowes and Angie Hart they will be completing an
East Coast tour including FUSE festival throughout Feb and March before jetting
off to perform at SXSW and Canadian Music Week.

Illicit Eve received Triple J play late last year and have now scored a release
through Mixmasters/MGM for their debut album 'Into the Woods' - the album and
accompanying video for single "They Don't make boys like they used to' was
launched to a sold out crowd in Adelaide last weekend and will be available in
store from March.

New Sydney roots rock artist Penny Coco has grown up surrounded by music and her
debut self titled EP shows a talent that belies her years.. Produced by Syd
Green and already added to Satellite Music , available on ITUNES and with
showcases coming up this is one to watch.

SoundsLikeCafe HOME - retail compilation available now on Itunes and in selected
cafes.

The next edition of SoundsLikeCafe has finally arrived for 2008. The eagerly

Anita from Cafe Birkenhead Point, Drummoyne, NSW commented:
"The sounds like cafe is the most fabulous, innovative idea that I have come
across in a long time. We always get comments as we always play your CD 's in
the cafe, such as "where can we buy this music from". I have also over heard
customer commenting amongst themselves saying this is great music, its not too
heavy, and they wish they could also buy them for home when they are having
dinner parties. The joy it brings to our customers is wonderful."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Febuary 1st 2008

Byron Bay Band Very Unique Existence break through to independent success story!

In this time of transition from the traditional major label model to a more
artist driven industry many barriers still exist for a young act aspiring to
commercial recognition but one new aussie band from the new south wales north
coast seems to be breaking them down quite comfortably with radio adds both in
Australia and the USA as well as Retail Chain airplay in Europe.

Since testing songs mid 2007 on an early issue of their EP and receiving spot
plays on Triple J, MMM Brisbane and regional stations as well as amassing a huge
presence on myspace with an intriguing idea

of fully involving their audience and feedback in all aspects of the bands
career -all leading to the current figure of 99000 plays and counting. The new
remastered, repackaged CD now includes a bonus DVD and has already scored the
band the Music Network Hit Pic and Emerging Artist piece in the Jan 18th issue.

This has already resulted in no less than 16 ATB Adds(see Feb 4 TMN) across
regional commercial radio across NSW and Queensland for the first single 'Take
It Easy' - stations such as NEW FM, 2ZZZ, Power, Max, Hot 91, 104.7 Grafton
and many more have all embraced the bands own self defined brand of 'Positive
Consiousness Rock' .The SBA Network have added both the single and video while
Mood Media/DMX have taken things one step further with 4 of the five tracks
added to their playlists and the single championed as the number one pick from
Australia for their European Channels-see www.moodmedia.com.au

The European response is totally in line with the bands strategy of expanding
their audience reach using new technologies to get their music everywhere
possible and the USA is no exception - the simultaneous radio push going on
there as we speak has so far resulted in the band breaking into the TOP 30
College Radio charts in only the second week of promotion with some stations
reporting Top 10 plays as well as high level rotation to over 2.5 million
internationally on the Moozikoo and Radio X network

To back up the release there is a 45 date regional and metro tour already booked
which commenced where else but the Beach Hotel in Byron on Jan 31st - the tour
takes in towns such as Lismore, The Gold Coast, Bellingen, Port Macquarie and
more before heading into the cities - for full tour dates see www.thevue.com.au
.

The CD EP with bonus DVD clip (high rotation on Nightlife Video) is distributed
by MGM and with more radio support sure to come on board and management already
sniffing the future looks bright
for these 4 guys from Byron Bay.

Blending influences from Silverchair to the lighter side of Kyuss, Take it Easy
will play well on multi-formats. The group, which has built a strong fan base
by actively involving fan feedback into song
writing and delivering rocking live shows locally and internationally, is a
more than healthy introduction to local radio. Don't take it easy on adding this
one! The Music Network JAN 18 2008

tight and close then all of a sudden lifts you to dizzy heights - Best Magazine

Hello Everyone :)

I hope you are all going well this year. I hope you don't mind me asking for
your help.

I am playing at the huge St Kilda Festival here in Melbourne on February 10,
with my band of Paige Boys. I am independent of record companies and so
on...and have been steadily plugging away on my originals band, gigs,
recordings etc. but not much exposure beyond what I can muster at gigs and
from awards etc.

Now,I ask you to please vote for me at:

  <http://www.stkildafestival.com.au/vote> www.stkildafestival.com.au/vote

You don't have to register or anything, just click on the vote for bands
link on the page. It is really simple. Just choose Jessica Paige as the
artist you vote for my band and we stand to win $5,000 plus a spot on the
Big main stage next year - we are already in the top 10 bands in the
running.

Let me know when you vote and I will be delighted to send ( by email) you an
MP3 track for your ipod etc.

Many thanks!

Jessica

theskinnytree is the brainchild and collaboartive effort of several Austin, TX

BUT WHY FREE??? Yeah, well it won't always be. To shoot you straight, in a year

probably cost $25/year for solos and $55/year for bands. Not much, but still not
free. So
you're right.

However, we're working on a way that if you help us promote the site, you can

GROW YOUR OWN - UPLOAD 2 SUBMISSIONS CALL!

GYO has been around for over 10 years now and has the enviable reputation of
being one of the few indie compilations taken seriously by the industry as a
snapshot and showcase of unsigned artists across the country.

GYO has a proven track record of giving unsigned artists a step up in the
industry. Through the media, marketing and promotional activities that surround
each release, bands are able to further do what they love by getting their music
heard and having the opportuinity to network and develop releationships with
other independent bands.

GYO offers independent bands the chance to have one of their tracks recorded in
a professional studio under the guidance of an experienced studio
engineer/producer, the finished product is a track that is market ready and of
radio airplay standard. The GYO compilation series is an outstanding opportunity
to shop your hottest track to radio and industry, and also provides independent
acts with an affordable alternative to the release of an expensive seperately
