We are women who have been or are going through Family Court/Federal Magistrates Court proceedings somewhere in Australia. We are NOT a political lobby group. There are other groups doing that.
We primarily offer emotional support and the wealth of our experiences, both good and bad, in an effort to encourage you to fight for your rights and for a good old Aussie "fair go". We will have articles of interest you can refer to. They are not necessarily our personal beliefs.
We believe women are disadvantaged by the current Family Law system and are often pressured into accepting less than they deserve in property settlements, either by their financial circumstances, former partners, family members or legal advisors.
Sometimes it is a lonely battle and that's why we are here. Like the woman in the photo, she's alone (or maybe the little ones are in front of her?) and in unfamiliar territory. We're here because we want to understand and we care about you and your children.
We make no judgements about you or your circumstances. We offer emotional support, practical suggestions about what help is available and where to find it, and we will always listen to you and treat you with respect and dignity.
We are mums like most of you. We mightn't answer straight away, but we will always respond to your posts. Some of us might even be in court right now, so be patient. We are volunteers and we have lives too.
Unlike so many "professionals" these days, we really ARE here to help you!
Please be kind and understanding to each other. We can be here for one another, especially when it feels like there is no one else who seems to care.
We are not here to name and blame former partners or lawyers. Those posts and anything else offensive will be removed.
