Cool, Anne, I see that you are very busy too. I did read your draft
and here are my remarks :
- Maybe you should find another word for "pollie speak" to keep it
more international ;-)
- If you say that you will no longer vote for Australian, US or UK
leaders, what with the rest of our members who are not voting
there : Europe for one. You could mention that as an option if you
live in those three countries and find something else for other
people.
- I think that a (mail) letter is always better than an e-mail, and
that is what the websites of the governments say too. If you want
a "possible" reply, you can only write, is their suggestion. If you
have a draft of a letter that we can copy and change it a bit
depending where we live, it can be done without much effort.
I give you the addresses that I found on the net with the URL of the
website of the PM or President and the e-mail address (or link).
For Australia :
The Hon John Howard MP
Prime Minister
Parliament House
Canberra ACT 2600
AUSTRALIA
http://www.pm.gov.au/email.cfm
To e-mail, there is a link, no address.
For the UK :
To Mr. Tony Blair
Prime Minister
10 Downing Street
London
SW1A 2AA
United Kingdom
http://www.pm.gov.uk/output/Page3.asp
To e-mail, also a link, no address.
For the USA :
To Mr. President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington DC 20500
United States of America
http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/
To e-mail : comments@....
I can e-mail you my draft of a letter/e-mail that I wrote
for "Mitchelton" and that Sandy is checking right now. That letter
to PM J. Howard is mentioning 6 requests about mostly nuclear items,
the uranium digging and the use of DU weapons in Australia, but
maybe you can see what I wrote and pick up some ideas from it.
I hope it can help you to make a draft that reflects the ideas of
our international members. Today, I added a few more links for
Climate changes that I had on my desk and coming from the European
Unit of Greenpeace, which is located in Brussels-Belgium. GP
International is located in The Netherlands and has not always the
same ideas as the EU unit in Brussels.
Until then, I send you much hugzz too :-)
Rob.
