RE: Protest ALP on uranium mining expansions by helping the GREEN vote in the Senate

Hiya Benny,

Thanks for this, do you have any pictures? I am sure the list would love to see
them if you do.

To me, the dots are clearly joined in the real "war on terror".
... the removal of Howard, Bush, and Blaire from total power and control of our
planet and her people.

Look at the "war games" (Operation Talisman Saber 2007) as a perfect example.
http://shoalwaterbay.org and/or http://peaceconvergence.com

The US Governments' Military needs "sites" to continue in its global aims for
domination via militarisation and continued promotion of privatisation and the
unabated consumption of our planet's precious natural resources (which are, of
course - finite).

Here is a perfect example of what the US military do to their own soils, to
their own people when not strongly opposed in: "Victory"
http://globalclimatechangeaction.org/node/54

and of course... lest we never forget the nuclear weapons testing that has
already been carried out on our people.
Is it a case of: "oh, our wonderful US allies would never do that to us!"
...let's all stick our heads up our bums and support them.

If you have a quick look at the URL above, or in full here:
http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2007/03/07/18373823.php
you can see that the US military has already KNOWLINGLY irradiated their own
people!
It is clear that the consequences of nuclear testing on the people of this
planet has been studied for many, many years. See:
http://www.43things.com/entries/view/1881061
and the results of these tests are clear and (in my mind) ample grounds to stop
all uranium exports immediately!

Use of uranium causes DEATH.
Knowledge of this, and continued use of uranium amounts to GENOCIDE.
Therefore, ANY further use of uranium continues to AGREE with GENOCIDE!

If the people of Australia vote for the ALP or for the Liberal/National
Parties...
THEY VOTE TO AGREE WITH GENOCIDE.

Genocide not confined to a particular race/religion of innocent people on the
other side of our planet, but to their OWN CHILDREN on their own soils.

Our current leaders own NO backbones when it comes to ensuring our people are
safe from US invasion be that by their miliary (with weapons of war) all the way
through to the theft of our precious natural resources and our fragile, hard
won, human rights (see the FTA - http://www.43things.com/things/view/1022031).

The ALP, Nationals and Liberal Party have not replied to my letters which asked
some very simple questions, questions that every Australian voter should be
asking themselves, see:
http://www.globalclimatechangeaction.org/node/64 feel free to use this resource!

In this, the election which may see an end to all "democratic" elections in
Australia... I hope everyone who reads this is enrolled to vote, and i hope that
everyone you know is encouraged to enrol to vote too.

Finally, Benny, will you be able to attend the Peace Convergence in Yeppoon (see
link above)?
I hope so :-)
and do you know of the Cycle Against the Nuclear Cycle III? www.canc.org.au
Departing from the Peace Convergence (Rockhampton) and riding all the way to
Canberra?
I hope to join this ride, perhaps you will also consider?

Warm regards
Anne

the Senate

During the ALP national conference, I spent my time protesting outside in
costume, mask and a URANIUM, LEAVE IT IN THE GROUND sign. Sadly the ALP
delegates voted in favor of uranium mining expansions.
Nuclear weapons proliferation is as serious as the climate crisis. A public
debate needs to surface on this issue connecting the dots from uranium
mining to DU and other weapons of mass destruction industry, that is wasting
away our water air and earth.
I suggest between now and the elections that we centre our protest on this
decisions by helping the GREENS gain control of the Senate.
Either Liberal and Labour will be the government that controls the House of
Representative.
We need green progressive representatives elected in the Senate to have
power to make sure whoever is the government does not get away with their
polluting agenda without a fight.
Here is an appeal by Bob Brown calling for your help with financial
donations to run TV advertisements on why vote Green for the Senate.

Yours Benny Zable

Subject: Bob Brown, the Greens and the Senate - please help restore the
balance

Dear Friend

In this year's federal election two important decisions will be made: one
will determine who will be Prime Minister and the other will determine
if the Coalition will continue to have complete control of the Senate.

Labor can win government in 2007 - the Greens can't. The Greens can rescue
the Senate - Labor can't.

There are 20 Coalition senators up for re-election this year. If just one of
them loses their seat, the Coalition will lose control of the Senate.
If two of them lose their seats, it's likely that the Greens would have the
balance of power in their own right. It's possible to achieve such a result
-
in 1988, the Coalition won only 17 of the 20 Senate seats.

Labor would need to win 25 of the 40 Senate seats at this years election to
gain balance of power in their own right. While they won't
be able to achieve control on their own, they will be able to share the
balance of power with other parties if the Greens can win just one
senate seat from the Coalition.

Unless Bob Brown and the Greens gain balance of power in the Senate , even a
Labor Government will not be able to
rip up the IR laws or introduce climate change policies

You can help ensure that Bob Brown and the Australian Greens achieve balance
of power in the Senate.

The announcement over the weekend that Labor supports massive expansions to
uranium mining and that the Coalition will pursue nuclear
power here in Australia demonstrates the importance of the Greens whoever
wins Government - We need your support to be a
strong nuclear-free voice in the parliament.

If just 40 people donate $1000 each we can run a national TV campaign.

If only 1000 people across Australia contributed $10 per week then we would
raise $300,000 before the election to ensure that all
voters know just how important this election is.

To make a fortnightly contribution to Bob's campaign please go to:

http://www.tas.greens.org.au/reelectbobbrown/

It doesn't matter if you can give a little or a lot - together, with the
help of other Australians, we can achieve something extraordinary.

Even if you can't help out financially, please help out by forwarding this
email to any friends or family members who you think might
be able to help.

Thanks for your support.
