Decades ago while working as a design technician for an electronics
company in New Zealand, a chap popped in bubbling with excited
enthusiasm for his idea to propel cars. He put it to us for development
into practicality and it became my task to assess it.
His idea was to have a tunnel through the middle of every car, from
front to rear, such that the forward motion of the car would drive a
propeller turbine in the tunnel who power output would charge batteries
which in turn would drive an electric motor to propel the car.
I'm so glad I studied physics.
