Northern Zone Championship 7/8 Nov 2009
Manning Marathon 9/10th January 2010.
Two races to count. The Saturday afternoon race will be a standard olympic
style course, and the Sunday race will be the marathon from Manning Point to
Taree.
Hi Rachael
I am the Secretary from the NSW Association and I looked up your boat number and
the only owner we have recorded from Corsair 531 is in the year 1986 and the
owner was living in Nelson bay NSW. The name of the boat was Aquarius. I never
have seen the boat and I looked up if it ever had a placing in the National
titles but it never won. I owned Wildthing 534 and when I bought it it was also
in need of a lot work.
I will add a photo later then you can see it.
KEN LECKENBY he was the owner of corsair 504 in 1983, he wrote a article about
SEPARATE AND REPAIR A DAMAGED CORSAIR HULL. I don't know if I already uploaded
this file but I will check this out. Have a look in the file folder.
Go sailing go Corsair
Cheers Doreen

* What parts or set ups have made your life easier? Do you use your
Corsair for Crusing or Racing?
* What suppliers have you found to be the most helpful?
* Have you tried any of the online chandleries? Which ones? And what
did you think of them?

Hi Tim,
To start with it'll be Social sailing, but once I get my crew trained
up- and depending on their enthusiasm, I'd like to get back into racing
(although this could be some time in the far, far off future).
Thanks for your suggestion though, i'll be posting pics later on,
especially of one tricky repair that will have to be undertaken.
Cheers,
Rachael

Rachel,
Congratulations on your purchase. You question asks many questions. Do you
intend to race your boat or just social cruising? Best to take some images
for the sections you want to repair and post them up for comment. There is
nothing and surprising with these boats and most of the issues have been
dealt with many and varied ways.

Hi Everyone,
Wow, new site! This is much different from the old QCA site.
I've just bought Corsair #531 and I'd love to hear from anyone whose seen
this boat in action, especially from anyone whose sailed or owned this boat!
I've changed the name from "Cruzin Blue" to "Ginja Ninja" - yes bad luck and
all that I know, but I'd imagaine this boat has had a few names over its
life, so one more shouldn't make too much difference.
The sails are in immacualte condition, but less could be said for the boat
itself, it could be great if anyone with tips for fixing hulls ect could let
me know what they did and how effective it was!
Thanks Guys.

Hi Sailors, the 41st National Championship notice of race 2010 is
uploaded on this side.
The last time that the national were held in Budgewoi was in 2005/06.
This was a very successful event and we hope that it will be bigger
next year.
Go Sailing go Corsair

QLD Corsair State Championship 09
It has been necessary to change the venue for this years Corsair State
Championship. After numerous discussions with the Keppel Bay Sailing
Club
we both came to the conclusion that it would not be financially
viable for either organisation to go ahead with the regatta at
Yepoon. My thanks go to Sue Germain (secretary of Lake Cootharaba)
who helped secure our new venue at short notice. I have attached a
preliminary Notice of Race as LCSC have not officially released
details of the regatta, however we are not expecting any changes from
last year. This being the case I am expecting to see the Corsair
Association well represented at JOCK JUMPING competion on Sunday
night. Please don't leave your training to the last
minute, technique is very important.
The NSW Corsair Association held their state championship in February
at the Budgewoi Sailing Club with 8 boats making up the fleet. As
their state championship has already been sailed I will be extending
an invite to any NSW boats which may like to journey north (Lake
Cootharab is just like Budgewoi). I have already heard from the boys
from Airlie Beach and they will be making the trip south at Easter,
so it should be an exciting event.
(See attached file: NOR State Championship 2009.doc)
State River Titles
Due to bad weather the Corsair State River Titles on the Maroochy
River was cancelled this month. This regatta has been enjoyed
especially by our younger members for many years. As a result I have
asked Maroochy Sailing Club to confirm a new date for this event and
they are now going back to their executive committee to decide on a
date. So watch this space.

Hello Everyone...
I am trying to find someone who can assist me with a beach dolly for
my Vagabond. Can anyone in the group point me in the right direction?
Regards
John Blyth
Hi Tim
Not sure this the best place to suggest a web community with a lot of
advice on boat repairs but I have always found great tips and sources
of information on this sort of topic at www.trailersailerplace.com.au
It is free to sign up or guests are able to browse the general forum
topics and is an invaluable source of information.

Dear All
Can anyone provide guidance on the best material to repair some small
scratches and scrapes on a Corsair hull?
Can you just use some resin or is it best to dig out the scratch a
little deeper and put some glass fiber in first and then resin on top?
Thanks for any advice
Tim
