Hi Kyla,
We were looking at making it out of steel, then getting it hot dipped. This
would be a fair bit cheaper than aluminium? The main weight would be supported
by a canvas sling.
Thanks, Craig :)

Unfortunately I don't have measurements, however if no-one manages to

I moonlighted as an engineer, so it shouldn't be difficult). That
way, there will be a copy of a cradle around for future use (I'll send
a copy to the Corsair association as well). Any preference for
construction material?

Hello Craig,
I gather you are referring to a supportive structure for the boat
when sitting on the trailer? If so, some boats have supportive
fiberglass strips joined to the trailer, moulded to the shape of
the particular boat. Exactly how these are made can probably be
explained better by someone else (someone who has made them for
their boats), but they do take spread the the weight of the boat
when on the trailer more evenly on the hull.

If you are looking for a rudder box the standard boxes are available
from Blue Water Marine in Melbourne. Jim Buckland (a boat builder on
the NSW Central Coast) of Buckland Marine is a distributor for them
in NSW, I believe.

Hello Kyla,
This Yahoo group is not restricted to or in any way limited to NSW.
It just happens that so far most of the members happen to be members
of the NSW Association. Members of all the Associations as well as
any one else with any involvement or interest in Corsairs at all are
all most welcome.

I am not currently involved with the administration of CCANSW but I
have been a committee member in the past.

Anyway, welcome to NSW, and happy sailing.
Tim Buske (Group moderator)

PS The Queensland members (and corsair sailors in any other state)
are all most welcome to join this group.

To the best of my knowledge, the moulds are all owned by Blue Water
Marine in Melbourne. Hulls (or the full boat) can either be bought

boats on the market.
