I was just thinking about the fact that gallstones are called "adult colic" or "bilary colic", so wondering if
it's the same thing as colic in babies:
=========
Gallstone disease, or cholelithiasis, is the most prevalent disorder of the biliary system and a major health problem throughout the world.
===============
Biliary colic Biliary colic is the most common symptom of cholelithiasis. It results from transient obstruction of the cystic duct by a stone. "Colic" is a misnomer, because pain is severe and steady and is localized to the epigastrium or right upper quadrant and radiates to the back or the right scapula. The pain increases in intensity over 15 minutes, reaches a plateau, and may last up to 6 hours. Most attacks are accompanied by nonspecific symptoms, such as nausea and vomiting. The attacks are often precipitated by eating, and the interval between them is unpredictable. During an attack there is mild to moderate tenderness over the right upper quadrant. Between attacks, physical examination findings are normal.
========
Acute cholecystitis
===========
Chronic cholecystitis Chronic cholecystitis is the result of repeated attacks of biliary colic or acute cholecystitis and is characterized by chronic inflammation of the gallbladder wall. Patients may present with related complications, such as recurrent pancreatitis, choledocholithiasis, and cholangitis.
Ultrasonography may reveal gallstones or sludge within a shrunken gallbladder. Scintigraphy reveals reduced gallbladder ejection fraction or delayed filling of the gallbladder.
Surgical treatment of chronic cholecystitis is the same as that for acute cholecystitis.

COLIC in BABIES:
Symptoms- the babies can cry for hours at a time, repeateng around the same time of day or night-
and we know that adult colic or gallstone attacks come many times right after a meal. --
Colic is actually a collection of symptoms, rather than a disease. It usually begins within the first 2 or 3 weeks after birth and can last until the baby is 3 or 4 months old.
- The main symptom of colic is crying -- hard, almost angry crying -- for hours at a time. Your baby's face is likely to be red and the crying loud.
- The baby will pull its legs up, as if he or she has abdominal pain.
- Babies with colic usually eat well and gain weight normally.
- The baby may be irritable and hard to distract or comfort.

Symptoms, causes, orthodox & alternative treatments.
(At least in BABIES, even if it's discovered that gallstones are the
culprit, you don't seen them rushing to take x-rays or to
cut into the child and remove the gallbladder. --Cindy)
----------
Since I know that eating apples with peels, esp. green apples for adults with colic or gallstones, along
with apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, and lots of extra virgin olive
oil, and sometimes add epsom salts to warm water, and drink lots
of water, etc., break up gallstones in adults and help to pass them
out of the body without surgery, I am wondering if these would be the
best things to add to colicy babies' food intake. Apparently it doesn't
matter whether the baby is breatfeeding or bottle feeding, the
occurrances of colic are about equal. Maybe the MOTHER, if
breastfeeding, could add these things to HER diet!-"Cheyenne Cin"

I notice in looking at websites that there are several recommendations for nursing mothers to put apple cider vinegar directly
ON nipples- healthy healing both for the MOTHER and seems beneficial for the baby. Also, to add a teaspoonful
of apple cider vinegar to baby's juice- preferably apple juice. The best way to make apple juice, of course, is
DO IT YOURSELF- take green (or red) apples with peels and if the baby is old enough, make juice in blender, so
that the fiber and pectin is included, even the seeds. I think adding a slight bit of extra virgin olive oil has to be
good for the infant, too. --'Cheyenne Cin"-- P.S. There were several about colic and some about soreness on the
nursing mother, but I'm going to put the link here about THRUSH in babies, because it seems the same remedies
as for colic and adult gallstones might be in order!

God's Overwhelming Love for Us
Rom 4:25-5:3 (TLB)
{25} Jesus died for our sins
and rose again to make us right with God,
filling us with God's goodness.
{5:1} So now, since we have been made right in God's sight
by faith in his promises,
we can have real peace with him
because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
{2} For because of our faith,
he has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand,
and we confidently and joyfully look forward
to actually becoming all that God has had in mind for us to be.
{3} We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials,
for we know that they are good for us--
they help us learn to be patient.
Rom 5:5a-11(TLB)
{5a} for we know how dearly God loves us,
and we feel this warm love everywhere within us
because God has given us the Holy Spirit
to fill our hearts with his love.
{6} When we were utterly helpless, with no way of escape,
Christ came at just the right time
and died for us sinners who had no use for him.
{7} Even if we were good, we really wouldn't expect anyone to die for us,
though, of course, that might be barely possible.
{8} But God showed his great love for us
by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
{9} And since by his blood he did all this for us as sinners,
how much more will he do for us
now that he has declared us not guilty?
Now he will save us from all of God's wrath to come.
{10} And since, when we were his enemies,
we were brought back to God by the death of his Son,
what blessings he must have for us now that we are his friends
and he is living within us!
{11} Now we rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God--
all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done in dying for our sins--
making us friends of God.
Rom 8:35-39 (TLB)
{35} Who then can ever keep Christ's love from us?
When we have trouble or calamity,
when we are hunted down or destroyed,
is it because he doesn't love us anymore?
And if we are hungry or penniless or in danger or threatened with death,
has God deserted us?
{36} No, for the Scriptures tell us that
for his sake we must be ready to face death at every moment of the day--
we are like sheep awaiting slaughter;
{37} but despite all this, overwhelming victory is ours
through Christ who loved us enough to die for us.
{38} For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love.
Death can't, and life can't.
The angels won't,
and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God's love away.
Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow,
{39} or where we are--high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean--
nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God
demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.
Eph 2:1-10 (KJV)
And you hath he {made alive}, who were dead in trespasses and sins:
{2} Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
{3} Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past
in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;
and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
{4} But God, who is rich in mercy,
for his great love wherewith he loved us,
{5} Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;)
{6} And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
{7} That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace
in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
{8} For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: {9} Not of works,
lest any woman should boast.
{10} For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
