Jenny, thank you so much for this message of comfort about Steve, Terri, kids, etc... Actually, I'm not an Aussie, but the name of the group somehow does indicate that. I live right smack dab in the midst of the USA, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. But, like so many worldwide, we love Steve and Terri and those two children, and feel like we 'know' them, from so much exposure. I know that Steve got sloppy with the stingray, and it cost his life, and that he didn't die instantly. Since there was videotaping from their honeymoon through their lives together and even of his death, and it was shown to us all, we feel the bond that you Aussies do! I wrote the "ode to Steve-O" to help sooth my own feelings of anger at Steve for litterally killing himself in such a stupid manner. I know that he was helping Bindi, she was going to be a part of a children's series, and Steve was probably thinking he'd have something for her to use. But now she is without her Daddy. If they weren't Christians, I see a potential for GREAT REBELLION on Bindi Sue's part, from having lost her beloved father. Just as knowing that Steve, exuberant and somewhat reckless personality included, was really responsible for his own demise, and comforting myself with these message posts, as well as hopefully comforting others, I also know that YOUR info is a huge comfort, esp. to us who are Christians. Yep, Steve and Terri should have been more open about their Christianity, if they truly were Christians, but I also know you are either saved or you aren't. Jesus (as God) said "I AM the way, the truth and the life, NO ONE comes to God but by me." There is no other way. I believe that where muslims would kill Christians, there are probably many 'secret' Christians who are scared to witness and testify to their faith. Steve, being rich and famous, might have not been as forward with being a Christian as he should have been, but we all hope he is in heaven now. Bet there aren't any crocs there for him to chase. Also bet he KNOWS how stupid he was at the end of his earthly existence. He probably knew that just before he died. Anyway, apparently Terri and the children have been shuffled back to their home, probably on day one, from Tasmania, and I think it's wonderful they can keep them out of the public eyes. Her parents from Oregon are probably there, too, I don't know. Steve's Dad is being the family spokeman, and I believe he would say and do nothing without having it approved by Terri first. He has confirmed Steve as his 'best mate', and an 'ordinary bloke' who would not want an Australian state funeral, so that has been nixed. My guess is that Terri will remain there and run the family business, allow Bindi to persue her own television carreer, etc., and Terri and Bindi probably know already that Steve was negligent there at the end, and little boy Bob probably is very confused now. Bet Terri wishes she could laugh with him and say 'you crazy man, that one cost you your life' --- sadly, that can't happen now. But if you say is fact, she can say, "I know Steve is indeed in heaven, and I myself can hang onto the Lord Jesus Christ for comfort", and be guided by God the Holy Spirit. We all know as Christians that means everything.
If you are correct, PRAISE THE LORD, and I'd love to have that article and be able to post it. THANKS!--"Cheyenne Cin" (Cindy)---P.S. oh, and about the film showing Steve's horrible and stupid death, his father says, "burn it!" -- of course, that decision should be made by Terri. I wouldn't relish having people see the part where he pulls the barbed stinger out of his chest, along with his own chest parts, and the moments until his death right after that, either. But I also bet he got RIGHT DOWN above that stingray and aimed his chest at just the wrong spot. There is no indication the stingray even raised itself, just it's stinger, in fear. BAD move, Steve-O! But THAT, irresponsible a move as it was, wouldn't keep our Lord and Savior from receiving God's own! It just means getting there a lot quicker and leaving a lot more grieving people behind.
Nor would it keep the REST of us from telling the truth about Steve, because he & Terri are like family to us

Hi, I'm an Aussie too and I either read in one of the recent papers here or saw on one of the news bulletins that Steve was definitely a Christian. There wasn't any doubt about it. That helped me to cope with all the news. I wished he'd maybe talked about that aspect of his life more. Still I'm glad he's in heaven now. I'm a Christian too and though I do witness to people I don't always talk about God every day to people. I try to get to know them first.

Also,
as far as his belief in Jesus Christ as God, the potential for being a
Christian, even though he spoke heathen words at times, like the animals
'evolving', he also mentioned God-- that God put him on earth to be a
conservationist. Am sure we Christians would like to believe that Terri
is a Christian now, and that the children are being trained that way, and
that Steve died as a Christian and is in heaven now. Of course, we don't know that.

Ode to the Croc Hunter, Steve- CRIKEY! (Poem by "Cheyenne Cin")
I got down right next to the stingray
So that it and I could play
I thought I could call it a 'beaut'
And that would be oh, so cute.
I got way down there by the barb
Thought that would be just so 'marb'.
Got in position to aim for my chest,
well, you know all the rest.
Poor stingray thought it couldn't get away
so it flipped up the barb stinger, I had to pay.
Then I stuck in my thumb and pulled out my parts
That gave me quite the 'starts'
But could I survive all of that, well, no.
Now the question is, where did my soul go.
Was I a Christian, or was I headed for hell?
Perhaps my widow Terri will be willing to tell.
Terri, Bindi, Bob and others, too.
I am so sorry for what I did to you.
But I had to blow it, act like a boy
and thought the stingray was my toy!
--"Cheyenne Cin"--
Maybe would have done better, but typed this one out in a matter of minutes.
Maybe like, instead of "That gave me quite the 'starts'"
I would have included something like "Ow, that smarts"!
