PAYKAN in IRAN have now ceased production of the same body-shaped car after nearly 40years! May 15th 2005, the 2,395,095th paykan rolled off the assembly line!
The latest news is that a consortium in SUDAN is to produce 20,000 cars a year. at this rate, the HUNTER in all its various forms will contend the record for longest production run of any passenger car.. The VW "Beetle" holds that record at 64 years!!! only 25 more years to go!!!
The first Hunter rolled off the assembly line in 1966 from Coventry, then later at Lynwood in Scotland.
