One afternoon a lawyer was riding in his
limousine when he saw two men along the roadside eating grass.

Disturbed, he ordered his driver to stop and he
got out to investigate...

He asked one man, "Why are you eating grass?"

"We don't have any money for food," the poor man
replied. "We have to eat grass."

"Well, then, you can come with me to my house
and I'll feed you," the lawyer said.

"But sir, I have a wife and two children with
me. They are over there, under that tree."

"Bring them along," the lawyer replied.

Turning to the other poor man he stated, "You
come with us, also."

The second man, in a pitiful voice, then said,
"But sir, I also have a wife and SIX children with me!"

"Bring them all, as well," the lawyer
answered..

They all entered the car, which was no easy
task, even for a car as large as the limousine was.

Once underway, one of the poor fellows turned to the lawyer and said, "Sir, you
are too kind."

"Thank you for taking all of us with you."

The lawyer replied, "Glad to do it.

  "You'll really love my place.

"The grass is almost a foot high .

Hi Bro Sydney,

I spoke to him a couple of months ago when he went back to the Philippines at nakumusta ko na rin sya nung bumalik sya. He seems to be ok the last time I saw him at me progress naman. If you don't know him he looks well. I will call him again and will let you know.

Thanks for the offer and see the same link here:

I am just raising awareness and if you have been touched by some sort of disease, cancer, etc. you're advocacy would be there. It happens to be leukaemia for us.

   Thanks again bro for responding.

Cheers,

Bro Mar

Hello Batch74. The e-mail addresses above are the only ones I have. If you received this message and might know of any more current addresses and/or phone numbers of any batch mates (both here and residing elsewhere) kindly share it by replying to this e-mail. It would be really great having to inform each and every SJS74 classmates about a coming Reunion. Incidentally, I promised $100.00 to be used to "create" or make a Memorable 1974 YEARBOOK...Anyways, in order to make this momentum rolling, I'm looking at the possibility of using the three major Filipino American Newspapers here in San Diego to promote or publish this upcoming reunion. Remember, parts of the pictures THAT WILL BE TAKEN DURING THIS REUNION, as well as column writings will be included in the YEARBOOK.

I am also looking forward for more feedback coming from this e-mail from Batch Mates who are residing in other parts of the world...because of the financial difficulties the whole world is experiencing, sending your feedback will be part of the yearbook too.

Remember, we would make our VERY BEST not to leave out anyone from this YEARBOOK...I'll keep you posted of other important things too, everyday...CIAO

Dear Bros.,

I was able to talk to MC Patrick yesterday through the courtesy of Egay L. I gave Patrick the confirmation info of the money that Jojo sent, told him that there's P6K coming for Australia (but I don't have the details yet) and also that Dagie had already sent P1000. via the Lodge Secretary.

I reiterated my request for him to keep a journal of what happened sa Conclave para ma-inform ang lahat ng donors. When asked, he said that they were able to raise P6000 from the raffle sale of the bike that Lincoln Lodge donated, in addition to the P15,000 that they had already raised. I told him that they have more than enough money and my suggestion is to save those extra money in the Chapter's coffers for the Chapter's next projects. Especially if they are bidding to be the host of the next Conclave.

He again reiterated his request for info from the brods para matapos na ang kaniyang project. He said that he was able to get a piece of the Chapter's history from Conrad Tiu pero hindi complete and he will send the what he had collected so far for edits, additions, etc. I told him that we will send it around lalo na sa mga Kapatiran group who had been the haligi ng Chapter noon as they may know the history better than us. Also told him again to contact Tata Pino dahil he may have the history as he had been the Chatper's scribe for as long as I can remember.

Thanks again for all of your unselfish assistance towards this endeavor. I told him to make Yangco proud!!!

I think it is safe to say that we will be able to send the entire 20
delegates that they were planning to send and more. If you all recall, the
Chapter will sponsor 5 voting delegates out of the money that they had
collected. Tapos, the last time we (Allan, I, Patrick et al) talked over the
So kung may sosobra pa
ay pwedeng baon na nila sa kanilang trip or better still, save the money for
conclave?

Thank you everyone for the tremendous support of this project.
ang list of DeMolays. I've circulated a roster pero konti lang ang info na
bumalik sa akin. Please send me your info: where are you currently located,
year that you were initiated and batch name, if known, and email addy. I am
compilling the list.

Allan - you said that you have a list. Will you be able to transfer that
into a word or excel document and send it to me? Also, paki-email naman ang
Kapatiran ang ask about their info.

Hello Bros. especially to Patrick,

I'm really happy that Bro. and Sis. in the US opened their wallets and
hearts to support TRY Chapter to prove that we are the BEST of the BEST.

The supporters now look to you MC Patrick to take us to the Glory Days. Keep
it up!!!!

We here in the US have pledges that would support 18 delegates to the May
conclave.
according to my calculation.

Here is the remittance info:

I'll be using BPI to remit and DAD John Aquino as the receiver and disperser
of Funds.
I would like to have accountability with the funds and need dispersal report
to the penny.
As Bro. Netoy said, need to come clean for future assistance from Bros. and
Sis. outside PI.

I'll send the detail once I have them.Pickup at BPI branch in Olongapo.

Bro. Patrick - We had such a tremendous response from the other brods once
we
sent letter that I created. I think Bro. Jojo Foo will be sending the money
this
week-end. We will let you know as soon as possible para naman magamit na
ninyo
for the registration.

What we will need from you after all the Conclave is done is a Progress
Report
of what happened during the Conclave. I suggest that you keep a journal of
your
DAILY activities, kung sino ang nag-participate, what activities
our brods
participated in, if you guys won awards and recognitions, etc. Iyon bang
para
kang nagsusulat sa diary. I will then forward this to everyone who made your
project a reality. Hindi na kailangang maging super-maayos ang write-ups.
Pag
naiintindihan ko, then I can make corrections/edits if you'd like.

Before you go to the Conclave, we also will need a list kung sino-sino ang
pupunta at kung ilang delegates ang nakapunta. You need to make all of these
things happen right now para kung may susunod na project ang Chapter, hindi
tayo
mahihiyang lumapit again for their assistance.

Good luck to you and to all the brods who will participate. Our best advice
is
ENJOY YOURSELVES!! This is a lifetime experience so make the most of it.
Most
Important, MAKE YANGCO PROUD!!!

Subject: DeMolay Conclave Update

We had a phone call tonight with the MC Patrick, Boy Nabor (iyong tata-tata
nila ngayon) and Al Dela Cruz about the forthcoming Conclave. The Conclave
is on
May 21 and 22nd.

According to Patrick, they have already collected P15K towards the
Chapter's participation. Lincoln Lodge
also donated a prize na ipapa-raffle
nila this coming week at anuman ang kikitain will go to this event. Patrick
also
estimates that there will be about 3-5 DeMolays who will be able to pay
their
own attendance fee. He assured us na ang plano niya is that all paticipants
(target: 20) will have a part and not just plain participants. Each one will
be
a Ritual or an event competitor. So each one will have a role at hindi
pupunta
lang doon para mamasyal.

What we requested for them is the name of all participants, including a
magiging
sponsor ng Lodge, etc. Ang plano is that each or a combination of us, will
sponsor one delegate. So makikita natin kung sino ang ating sponsors.
Patrick
promised to send us the names ASAP.

We also
gave them a tip to interview Tata Pino
Jose for the history ng Yangco. Patrick said that they were already able to
interview Conrad Tiu, the 1st MC. He promised us na iyong project niya about
Yangco's history plus a list of members will continue kahit na tapos na ang
term niya, which is this coming June.

All in all, it was a productive telephone meeting. At least narinig namin
kung
pano sila nagsusumikap para maka-attend. Patrick said that he may run for
Jurisdictional Office. He is also planning to see kung pupwedeng mag-bid na
maging host ang Olongapo next year's Conclave.

I don't know what happened, kung bina-block ng server o
ano.

Mar - pwedeng paki-forward mo itong email na ito kay Patrick since he was
able
to receive yours? Also, ano ang plano ng mg brods diyan sa Oz regarding this
project? Pano
ipapadala kay Jojo ang funds? Are you going to send your funds

PLEASE send me your info para makasama sa roster. I only have a few brods
info
right now. Allan sad that he also have a list of brods that he will be able
to
send.

Thanks for Egay for facilitating the telephone call, using his Vonage.

Allan said that he had already mentioned this to the Kapatiran group. They
will
have another meeting on the 9th that he plans on attending (sinasama nga
ako)
and he will try to get more funds.

Jojo - Patrick will also send us the info kung kanino ipapadala ang
collected
funds. We specified that it be a member of the Advisory Council.

Hopefully we will get a better response sa mga brods about this project. Let
us

Hi,

I am sending you the attachment to one of the world's most unique and deeply inspiring experiences for art and garden lovers of all ages created by Bruno Torfs at Marysville Victoria .

On Saturday February 7th, the raging fires in Victoria completely destroyed his unique forest creation taking over 300 paintings and scuptures.

As you take a walk through the forest on the attachment herein, please take a moment to reflect on the beauty gone and the many people who have lost their homes, their loved ones, their livelihoods, the severely injured, the animal life and the dedicated firefighters, police, civilians, and those involved in caring for the traumatized and injured.

When real men shop, they go for the kill
By Dave Barry

I can't shop with my wife. The problem is that she almost never has a clear objective. I ALWAYS have a clear objective. Without a clear objective, you're just wandering randomly around a store, which is NOT the point of shopping.

This is not just my opinion: This is the opinion of literally thousands of Nobel Prize-winning scientists whose names are available upon request. These scientists have traced the origins of shopping back to prehistoric times, when "shopping" was called "hunting," and primitive man would make out his "shopping list" by drawing, on his cave wall, a picture of his objective, usually a large wad of meat in the form of, say, a yak. He would then go out into the wild, locate his objective, and make the "purchase" by whomping the yak on the head with a club.

This primitive shopper did not dilly-dally. He did not ask whether the yak was on sale. He did not try to accessorize the yak. He did not summon his primitive men friends and ask them if they thought the yak made his hips look big. No, he just WHOMPED THE YAK, and then he dragged it home, stopping only to whomp the primitive sales guys who appeared out of nowhere and tried to force him to purchase the service agreement.

This is the biological basis for shopping. And this is why, even today, most men, when they shop, are yak-whompers. They do not wander: They go straight for the kill. I know I do. When I enter a store, I have a definite, practical, no-nonsense objective in mind, which is to locate, and secure, an electronic gizmo that I already have, except the new one has more features.

For example, recently, in a surgical shopping strike so blindingly fast you would need slow-motion replay to even see it, I located and secured a new cell phone that, in addition to being a phone, receives e-mail AND takes extremely low-quality photographs. It has changed my life. Now, when I'm not using my phone's cell-phone feature ("Hello? Hello? Hello?") I can use the camera feature to record precious moments that I can share with others. ("Here's a picture of my daughter's ballet recital. Or, the Grand Canyon.") And thanks to my phone's e-mail feature, even when I'm away from my computer, I can receive the literally hundreds of urgent messages I receive every day from people wishing to enhance my manhood.

My wife did not understand why I needed this phone. Yet every guy I show it to immediately agrees that it is a vital necessity. I have a friend named Robert who has a similar phone, and recently we discovered that, theoretically, I could "beam" my address and phone number from my phone to his phone THROUGH THE AIR. I say "theoretically" because we could not get it to actually work, although we spent a good 10 minutes standing about a foot apart, pointing our phones at each other and fruitlessly pressing buttons.

Several women watched this with some amusement; they suggested that - - get this -- it might be quicker for me to just TELL Robert my address and phone number, which would have represented a wanton and reckless disregard on our part for the beaming feature. These women also suggested that we look at our owner's manuals, which of course is out of the question. For a guy, reading the manual is tantamount to admitting that, manhoodwise, you are in the hamster category.

But my point is that I acquired this phone via the standard guy method: in a bold, decisive, lightning-quick stroke. You're in; you're out; you're done! (I'm talking about shopping here.) Whereas my wife, when she gets inside a store, routinely takes astoundingly long periods of time to accomplish, essentially, nothing. She just shops! With no objective! She can spend what feels like days just looking at -- without actually purchasing -- stationery. She's always in the market for stationery because she's always writing notes to her women friends, who are always writing notes back to her thanking her for her note, which causes HER to write back to THEM, and so on.

So I can't go shopping with her. It makes me crazy. If I needed stationery, bang, I would grab some stationery and get the hell out of there. Of course I don't need stationery, because, as a guy, I never write notes. If I ever had a message for one of my friends, I would just beam it to him. Or I will, once I have mastered that feature.

I want to share to all that maxine was discharged from the hospital to
home yesterday and is recovering very well.
I haven't seen her personally myself but I am being informed on her
daily basis by my family.
I thank you all for the concerns and prayers .GOD IS GOOD.
She is now walking on her own.eating well.Knows and recognizing
everyone ,still slow when talking but very clear.
I was told that she sat by the poolside upon arrival at home.
Still a long way to recovery, will continouosly recieve treatment.
Let's continue our prayers specially for her and the the rest of the
family.
