Just some more info on my carry bars.
The front and back bars are made of 25mm Stainless Steel tube with a
wall thickness of 1.5mm thick. Two 6 metre lengths were used at a
cost of $39.00ea length, total cost of $78.00, These were bought
fron ATLAS STEELS in CARDIFF, N.S.W.I just crushed the ends of the
pipes and stick welded the joins with 2.5mm stainless steel rods.
It took me about 5 hours to measure, cut, and weld and dress up all
the welds. I then decided to paint and colour match the bars to the
car colour,(which in my case is metalic blue on my GLSI) That took
about an hour to prime, colour, and clear coat the lot.
So there you have it. $78.00, 6 hours work. Not a bad saveing on the
standard bars which cost about $1300.00 per set.
Hope this helps somebody out there.
Regards neil
