Hi Guys
Thought I better update things a bit. As most will know the GSR engine
Rebuild was finished in November Ready to install,Its been the little
things that has held me up for quit a while,electrical parts have been
nearly impossible to find,but I almost have that sorted out now.
In the mean time I have made a new album in the photo section for an
EVO 2 front brake upgrade,Twin pot calipers,276mm Slotted DBA
rotors,EBC greenstuff Pads,and stainless steel braided lines.
Bought the calipers in working order they said,but when they arrived
after seeing them I decided to give them a full O-haul anyway.
The casting is very rough on these calipers and I think it would be
impossible to keep the brake dust form sticking to them because of the
roughness,So while I had the pistons out I'll give em the full
treatment,Glass bead grit blasting, then grind them up completely
smooth giving me a fighting chance of washing the dust off later,then
giving them several coats of heatproof paint which you will see in the
photo album.The photos don't do them justice they look really good all
smooth so hopefully there is nothing for the brake dust to stick to
and will wash off easily.
Rotors and pads have been ordered,should have them next week.
I had to order blank rotors as there is no listing for evo rotors with
100mm stud patten, but drilling them to suit won't be any problem for
me.As the fitting progresses I'll post some more pics so you guys can
check them out. Next will be a 2 1/2 exhaust ready for the engine
conversion to go ahead. Keep ya all posted.
