If your planning a rotary conversion then all bets are off and I wouldn't know where to even start, that would take rebuilding the car from the body down.
Hilux diffs have been used with EVO conversions as they have the same ratios to match the EVO AWD Which is another question??? Are you wanting to go FWD,AWD,4WD,or RWDrive all these options have there own difficulties..
And don't forget the more complex the conversion the more money it will cost, and it depends on you plans for you car.If you are really only after a bit more power as a daily driver, then maybe the single cam 1.8lt cc lancer engine is the best choice. There fairly easy to find and cheap.
Jason/GSR AUTOTEK'S jumbuck used a rear diff from a Mitsubishi Libero Wagon 4G93T awd.
So at this stage what is that you plan to do,or want to do with your jumbuck????

vk2kyg if you could help me out with some advice, as I gather that
you have a wealth of knowledge on this subject. With luck I will have
some prices soon. Has anybody considered a MR2 style conversion :)
It would help to know the type of rear diff that is needed, I have
noticed that a Hilux LSD can be used. Any other info would be
appreciated.
