I'll have a look at the airbox.
What did you do to the exhaust?

Hi Kev, I think I've found a couple of extra neddies with some careful (and cheap) tuning of the (mostly) stock exhaust. Fuel economy has improved and the needle climbs the tacho much quicker in all gears. Another thing you might like to try is to pull the restictor out of the airbox. This is a black plastic tube that is pushed into the case downstream of the air filter. Unscrew airbox from hose and the tube just pulls out. This won't give you a massive power rush but it reduces the airbox retriction by 70% and sharpens throttle response. So far, I've spent about $30 on the exhaust, nothing on the airbox, and got an extra 70 - 80 km from a tank of fuel, and more torque available down low when towing (6x4 trailer). Other than that, car is stock with 33000 km on it. Cheers, Peter. --- In Jumbuck@..., "klyons_au" <klyons64@...> wrote:I agree with Peter, that this group holds some good info and I hopeitremains. I haven't done any mods so nothing to report there. I did have the head gasket replaced because of an oil leak though. I think there was something posted a year or more ago about this. Mine has only done 20000 km in just over 2 years. I'm not sure where exactly the leak was as I didn't see it and, believe it or not, neglected to have a look before it went in for replacement.Allcoveredby warranty anyway. I might get keen for some mods sometime but I'm happy with themachineas I bought it. If I needed more power I probably wouldn't haveboughtthe beast in the first place.(a couple more kw wouldn't hurt thoughifsomeone has a couple spare) Kev------------------------------------ Yahoo!7 Groups Links <*> To visit your group on the web, go to: http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/Jumbuck/ <*> Your email settings: Individual Email | Traditional <*> To change settings online go to: http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/Jumbuck/join (Yahoo!
