Hi Cameron
Thanks for the comments. I wouldn't want to make Another one.
Its all made out of MDF board, the sides are 8mm thick, and the flat surface is 3mm thick MDF.I had to wet it a little to shape it around the curves and dry it out with a heat gun. Its the width of the lump in the roof lining between the sun visors.
I made mine to suit what I was putting into it,but you could make it any way you wish. The rear is held to the roof by 2 longer screws in the holes that held the interia light in place, the interia light was refitted to the console. The front is held in place by a small stainless steel bracket with a V-shape cut out of it,and clips under the rear vision mirror bracket. No extra holes/damage and everything can be put back to standard. I can send you more pics of the bracket direct if you like.Really the only way I could help is, I have a template of the side shape and the ROOF Curve. If you send me your address I can make a paper template of the shape and post it to you,Then you can make it any way you want to suit your needs. The roof shape was the hardest part.
If that will help im happy to send you one.You can email me direct your address on nje97505@...
Regards neil

hi all just to let you's know i have asked my dealer befor how to do
it and the only way to do it is unplug the alarm siren thing but the
down side is that if it is broken into you will not hear it but
besides that there is no possiable way unless u come up with a a
kill switch that you wire into the alarm siren i guess but thats all
i have found out hope that helps ya but the plug is right near the
siren if you wanna go that way

cheers RUMBUCK

The title says it all.
A bloke at work recently bought a Glsi and has managed to turn of the
beeps when locking and unlocking. He can't remember how.He was sure it
was in the manual as he doesn't know how else he would have discovered
it. I would also like to turn off the beeps.
I'm a shift worker who goes to work at different times of the day and
night every day (Train driver)and those beeps are very loud at 0200 in
my driveway.
So, does anyone know? Is it in the manual? Extensive searching by both
of us hasn't found it again.

I have just clocked up 10 000 km and just over 1 year and couldn't be
happier with the Jumbuck. No mods, would love a turbo but it would
appear to be impossible to do in QLD.

Hi Guys
I thought I would post an update on my motor rebuild so far.
I have opened a new album in the photo section called :
A 4G93t Rebuild.
I will post everything I can as the rebuild progresses.
So far I have ground out all the cast marks out of the head, match
ported and polished inlets and exhaust and both manifolds.
The heads ready to machine surface and install new valve guides.
I have to regrind all valves and recut valve seats shortly.
The crankshaft has been ground smooth and polished, its now ready to
rebalance,and its sweet.
The block has been all ground out of cast marks smoothed and polishied
internally.its ready to surface machine and hone the bores soon.
I decided to go for the all show and shine look with most of the
aluminium parts polished to a mirror shine.I will post more pics of
these as there ready to refit.
I have to say grinding all these parts up,there is a lot of grinding
dust in the shed,But they sure look nice now.
Have a look at photos so far, and I will post more as I can.
Hope you enjoy my JUMBUCK EVOLUTION.
Regards Neil

Hi Neil,

Yes I still have the jumbuck and loving every moment of ownership. It will be
three years
old in 8 weeks time and has been trouble free. Its a great ute.

I was thinking that seeing as th ekernow cowboy site gets so much traffic it
might be
worth putting and article on the site to direct people to the group.

If you fancy putting together a few words and a couple of photos feel free to
email me and
I'll pop them on a an article.

Andrew

Hi Darren
Thanks for that info.Sounds like im in for some fun.
Do you have any wireing diagrams you could post,or a link to get them.
Do you know, if I were to use an aftermarket ECU system if I can use the origanal jumbuck loom.
Any wireing photo's would help.
Hope you can post some pics up soon.Love to see the whole look.
Thanks Regards Neil

Hi Neil

The air con was a real problem

I had to rewire the air con in the engine bay as it is completely
different from what it need to be and the cc lancer one is even worse

The reverse lights are in a different place in the jumbuck loom behind
the dash

If you just plug and play with the plugs behind the dash the fuel pump
runs continuousy instead of shutting off after 3 seconds

There is a conflict with the wiring loom in the lancer and the
headlights in the jumbuck. if you turn the lights on and then try to
turn the engine off with the lights still on the engine wont turn off!

I just had to get both wiring diagrams and then sort it out. Not to bad

Just one more thing, proton have modifed the acc pedal throw as they
dont need as much throw for the 4g15. If you just change acc cable and
fit it on the 1.8 you will only get 3\4 throttle when the pedal is to
the metal. Just a modification to do to the pedal stop under the dash

I fitted extractors and built a 2" mandrel system, heaps better

Gee, im happy thats its done . It is so good
Cheers

Do you have any sources for buying forged pistons and rods for the 4g93.
And do you have a recommendation or preference on gasket sealent,Is it
better to use origanal mitsi. stuff or is there a better aftermarket
product that won't let the oil/water out. Thanks regards Neil
