RE: [LGBRVIC] Strategic Weeding

Not stem scrapping but I have had plenty of experience removing it from
trees. I usually cut every stem going up the tree and removed a 1.5
metre section of ivy right around the tree. Make sure you cut the ground
level stem as close to the ground as possible and paint each one with
straight Glyposate! This usually requires follow up for the ground level
stems. Sometimes the stuff up in the canopy of the tree does not die
straight away especially of the tree has fibrous bark, they seem to take
forever to die (must get substance from the bark and leaf litter).

Anyway this method has worked well for tackling ivy trying to take over
trees.

Good luck

Subject: [LGBRVIC] Strategic Weeding

Hi everyone

I am interested to know if anyone has had any success with stem
scraping of ivy, and if so, what chemical was used? And was it neat or
diluted?
