Re: [LPFM] The Wave Streaming Online

Hi Guys

Johnathan, forgot to say, we would probably be interested in your kids show.

We might have a Lounge/swing show available if anyone is interested in that...

By the way, does anyone on this list run an LPFM station full time? Just curious...

Cheers

Dean

Hi Ross yeah I have aged well don't you think? No actually I have a way to go before I get to the big 5 o but it got the listeners going.

The Sandcastle is currently pretty much a playlist that consists of quite a large library of kids songs and stories. It's not voice tracked as such, but the kids really seem to like it. We'd be delighted to syndicate it but at the moment can really only stream at 24KBPS, maybe not quite broadcastable? It is Fraunhofer though and sounds quite good. But if a couple of stations are interested in say a weekly kids show that might be run on a Sunday morning, we could probably do this and make it available for FTP download. I have web space and bandwidth to burn on the US-based site. What I'm trying to avoid for as long as possible is having to send a constant stream of The Wave to it, because when no one is tuned into the stream while the Shoutcast server is running locally, we don't pay anything for bandwidth.

So, anyone else interested an a weekly kids show for download?

Hi Jonathan

I believe a happy 50th birthday is order!  Station sounds good.

I was wondering if The Sandcastle programme is suitable for airing on other stations.  I could be interested in taking it every night, if it's available for free on high-bitrate mp3.  Let me know.

Cheers,
Ross.

Hi all, New Brighton's community station, The Wave, now has a web site
(very basic at present) which includes on-line streaming.

We play a mixed bag of music from the 50's to the present day, and run
Ross's Station Playlist package. To listen, visit
http://www.thewave.co.nz.

Cheers
