Re: [LPFM] Matrix 107.5 FM   Message List

Hello Matrix

Nice to put a name to the frequency (although is there a name for the person
behind it???).
I think that the spoken programs you broadcast are definately worthy of
airplay but...
I wish you had checked with us before firing up as I would have reccomended
using 107.4FM which would have been clean as a bell.
Unfortunately... (1) You will be getting a bit of interference from us on
107.7FM (although that hasn't changed for 10 months or so and you are
interfering with our signal the same way)
and (2) You will be getting interference from Fleet FM's new Wgtn Tx on
107.3FM. He asked me about the Wgtn situation a couple of months ago. I'm
now thinking that I should have discouraged them from using that freq. At
the time I think that you guys had gone off air for a couple of weeks.

To be honest, I think that wholesale re-broadcasting of a LPFM station at
the other end of the country goes against the spirit of LPFM. In my opinion
it should be local as much as poss. There is so little local radio around
these days. What is the point, really? If other operators run a similar
format and you are not selling advertising there...
Just my thoughts.
If either of you want to chat about the situation, my number is: 021-457
368, our studio no. is 04-381 GROOVE (381 4766).

Cheers
Dean Conland
