Hmm. What an interesting thread that was. Here's my two sense. I
happen to have two syndicated programs. My shows are not live, as
there is not an inexpensive way to do live worldwide radio other
than internet broadcasting. It is not fiscally responsible to do
such a program. However, I am also a 'live' personality with
a 'real radio job' as well.
The LPFM situation in NZ is second to none in the world. I am not
sure in NZ, but speaking from a US point of view, our big stations
are 'automated' often times without anyone knowing. Even MY station
is live only for morning drive, and my show- evening drive. The
rest is all automated and voice over, and we even have different
jocks. In fact, I haven't ever met the guy who does late nights and
weekends. He doesn't live within 1,000 KM of me!
I don't think it takes away from the broadcast to do a good program
be it live or 'live' to disk. Good broadcasts are good, and then
there are...the rest.
Have a GREAT August Mates!
Cheers,
Marc
