If you don't know, an isolator is a piece of ceramic (I think) with a hole at each end for tying wires to. You can use anything strong that doesn't conduct electricity. You could use thick nylon fishing line at the 5/8 wave length down to the roof as long as you don't put too much tension on it.

What you can do is string 4 sets of wires out at a roughly 45 degree angle from the top of the mast just under the antenna element. Put an isolatator at the 5/8 wave length and attach the rest to the roof. This acts as a ground plane and also an extra set of guide wires to support for mast.
