Streaming audio to the net,a problem   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #4610 of 6150 |
Hi all.
I have downloaded Windows media encoder to directly stream my audio on the net to another point.
In the process of setting up the programme defaulted to using port 8080 to connect to URL
http://192.168.1.9:8080/ which I assume to be my URL.
The programme appears to be encoding and working as an indicating bar graph shows that I am streaming. However being a clever clogs I reasoned that as I am streaming on the upload leg of my broadband connection that if I used a second puter to connect to my URL via the down load side of my B.B that I would get myself back. This has not happened because if I try to connect to my own URL I get the "page unavailable" window.
Please could someone put me right and am I using the correct outgoing port? How can I tell?
O/S is XP and I have an Ethernet connection to Broadband via a DSE 4 way ethernet router to which both up and down puters are connected
Thanks in advance
B
