Ministers make promises and the MED are told to ( create ) a licence !!----- Original Message -----From: wireless.radioSent: Tuesday, March 13, 2007 11:47 PMSubject: [LPFM] 88.6 Beach FMI may have missed all the discussion about this, but can someone
explain to me just how an apparently "commercial" station can be
issued a medium power licence in the LPFM band??
I've just returned from a few days in the Wellington region and as
much as I like the music they were playing, I just can't work out how
this could happen.
With the exception of MAI in Auckland, I was under the impression that
88.6 was set aside for GURL purposes.
Or is this a case of "Yes, you can use these frequencies for LPFM
providing we haven't already issued them to customers waving large
chequebooks at us" ??
