Channel Z's old breakfast crew did a cover of it as well, under the
guise of Spacial Verb. For a ridiculous song, the cover wasn't
actually too bad to be honest... heh.

Dave and the Dynamo's certainly are Kiwi. Dave (Luther) is from Paparangi in Wellington, in fact. You can get that track on 'The very best of Hogsnort Rupert'...
