Sorry guys not sure why it didn’t want to put my bit
on the message – I’ll try a new one altogether.
I’ve done my best to contact them
– tried searching for new stations, etc. Best I can find is some
old references to a Hindi station that used to broadcast in the area on 88.3 or
88.4 depending where you look. Tried sending messages to all the contacts
I could find on there – nothing back. They also make reference to
this station broadcasting in Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Wellington – which must mean more than two transmitters at some stage
in the past???
They are also broadcasting a bloody long
way for a half watt transmitter and completely obliterate my signal past the
end of the street on 88.7 when they are on 88.6 – my guess is about 10
Watts at least.
Also is intermittent – on all
weekend – off yesterday until about 6pm then back on again.
This is the whole problem with LPFM
– I invest loads of time and effort into a station just to have some
bastard (this is a multi racial term – I don’t give a rats ass what
colour he is – that’s missing the point entirely) with no respect
for the rules destroy my station. This is what puts me off getting
sponsors etc for the station because the structure is simply not there for it
to be viable.
I for one would gladly pay a nominal fee
to offer alternative programming at low power if it meant my frequency was safe
and this bullshit couldn’t happen.
This could happen to any of you –
there is nothing stopping someone setting up next door on YOUR FREQUENCY if
they felt like it. And if you cant find them theres not shit you can do
about it – its bollocks!!!
