I have brought back a feature to my LPFM station called The NZ
Music Beat and I have put it on the internet as a podcast.
Its a feature which is updated regularly with the latest in NZ Music.
The music comes from NZ On Air's Kiwi Hit Disc.
I would like to offer this free of charge, to all you other LPFM
stations to broadcast if you wish. Or just broadcast the ones which
would be of interest to you.
PLEASE NOTE: Our studios will be closed
from July 20th - August 30th, we will be unavailable for production
services throughout this period. We apologize for the inconvenience in
advance.
Looks like you have the wrong MIME type. I just see your XML code in the browser, which means it's not subscribable unless I paste the URL into iTunes manually. You need to make sure your Web server is issuing the correct mime type of application/xml.
In any event, none of your content loads. Probably because you haven't properly escaped your URLs. As you may know you can't have a space in a URL - but you can represent the space with its hexadecimal notation %20.
Also, it looks like you're missing the <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> tag at the very beginning (i.e. before the <rss> tag).
And your "length" attribute of the <enclosure> tag shows zero - which is obviously incorrect.
You might want to fix those errors and get us to try again. By the way, you might find this page useful: http://validator.w3.org/feed/
Having said all that, the concept of your podcast sounds good - which is why I'm keen to try again once your bugs have been fixed!

It works for myself in both Firefox & Safari, not sure if Internet
Explorer on PC will work also assuming it will?
What browser are you using?

I'm guessing the reason it doesn't work properly in IE8 because it still has a few errors (but fewer than before!). The results from the W3C validator (http://validator.w3.org/feed) explain how to remedy the errors. I suggest you run it through the validator and fix each of the errors reported there. Then it'll be RSS compliant and should work in any browser/feed aggregator (well, that's the theory anyway!).
Hope you don't read my comments as criticism - I'm just trying you to get it working properly on all platforms.
I've just this minute checked out the latest episode - I think it's a brilliant idea and well-suited to LPFM. Good stuff!
Cheers,
Edwin

I think you said a while back that most of your music for the music beat
comes off Kiwi Hit Discs?
Shouldn't LPFM be promoting material that doesn't get played on so
called "Normal" radio stations like Zm, The Edge, More Fm etc?
Just a thought about why don't you include other music eg original stuff
that gets sent to you by upcoming musicians composers etc.
Cheers

I suppose the reason for this is that My LPFM station is a CHR Top 40
station, taking place of say ZM / Edge etc.. LFM is the only radio
station in our area catering for this market. If I'm paying someone to
produce these, I want it to work with my station format as priority and
if its useful to you guys also, would love for you guys to broadcast it
also.
Cheers,
