Muslims For Peace (MFP) is an initiative of believing, practicing Muslims striving for peace with justice everywhere, at all levels of society, because, unless there is justice, there will never be lasting, genuine peace.

The basis for world peace is God’s Oneness (Tawhid). Instead of conflicts on the basis of nationality, ethnicity and factionalism, Tawhid provides the basis for the emergence of peace with justice. MFP stands against all oppression and injustice, ‘for God loves the equitable’ (Qur’an, 60: 8-9). Muslims are obligated to strive for the best possible conditions of equity, freedom and prosperity. Prayer, without righteous deeds, is not enough — in fact, it’s not even complete worship, which in Islam comprises both prayer and righteous deeds. This is not a recipe for political passivity. As the Messenger of Allah (S) said: ‘the best jihad [striving] is the denunciation of a tyrant’. Muslims have the responsibility to oppose oppression — provided we can do so within the ethical and moral framework of Islam. Islam makes Muslims the very best of people, if we are prepared to truly live by the Qur'an and Sunnah. MFP tirelessly upholds the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Yet, ever since the Holy Prophet (S) announced his Messengership, there has been a War on Islam. Islam is under attack today not because it is a source of terror, but because evildoers really do fear authentic Islam. Humanity today is on the brink of a precipice, because humankind is devoid of the vital values that are necessary for its survival. The Holy Qur'an warns us: '(2:217) and they will not cease fighting with you until they turn you back from your religion, if they can'.

Islam is the sole framework of genuine justice. Only Islamic governance can restore peace and justice, by replacing the narrow material and self-interest of elites with the universal values of Allah (SWT).
