Before moving on to new and wonderful things, here's a quick report
of what happened over the weekend;

Geek Games extravaGanza - an enjoyable night, played a few games,
discovered what wa popular - mainly the Smegity Smegs. We may do
another similar event in the future so stay tuned.
Ultimate Showdown brought 38 characters together to do battle in a
contest of power, wit and (mostly) popularity. It all came down to a
battle between the Doctor, a Dalek, Severus Snape and Miss Piggy! The
Doctor was put against Snape and lost on the basis that both were
loveable, but the Doctor was expendable because of regeneration. This
put the Dalek against Piggy - a very close call. The Dalek won,
though I believe it came out very battered. Finally Dalek vs. Snape -
the Ultimate Showdown. I knew who I was backing and it won - the
Dalek!

Alan Ruck Day on Sunday was very interesting - a glimpse at the
fantastic looking new Star Trek fan film: Of Gods And Men. This isn't
just any fan film, it's starring Alan Ruck and many other cast from
the various Star Trek series'. We're told the first part will be
released online in September. www.startrekofgodsandmen.com
Apart from that, Alan Ruck is a very friendly person - he made a
point to shake everybody's hand and introduce himself in the
beginning. He was happy to chat about whatever and whoever we wanted.
