The entire current committee is standing down for the ratification
and election of new members. Members can either ratify the existing
committee or elect new members to fill their positions.

Proposed changes to the Constitution

Explanations
The committee received a number of queries about the constitution
last year:

The 2006 AGM was poorly attended but was quorate (had a quorum of
members). However a lack of nominations resulted in the existing
committee being the caretaker committee until a new committee could
be appointed. A new committee was recently appointed.

<quote>
28. The executive committee may, subject to Clause 27, fill any
casual vacancy in any office referred to in Clause 26 by appointing
one of its members to the vacant office and the member so appointed

Polish animation holds a very special position in the hearts of all
fans of classic animation. Put simply, Polish animation is superb!
Any
list of 'best ever' animators is going to have a strong contingent
from Poland embedded in it. Indeed, animation has been created in
Poland from the earliest days of cinema with the examples dating
back
to pre-1920s. These two sessions show films dating back to the 1960's.

Recently, the Pompidou Centre in Paris curated an enormous
collection
of Polish Masters and these two programs owe a great deal to that
fine
inspiration. We also owe a very large "Thank You" to Marlena
Lukasiak
of the Polish Cultural Institute in London and Helena Dametka of
Filmoteka Narodowa in Warsaw. This collection is but a glimpse of an
incredible community of animators creating a strong, robust,
challenging, superb body of truly original work - but what a glimpse!

Tym razem bylo ono organizowane we wspolpracy z kolem Armii Krajowej.
Poniewaz zbliza sie dzien 1-szy sierpnia tematem  spotkania bylo
Powstanie Warszawskie.

W pierwszej czesci spotkania wyswietlilismy film dokumentaly  "The
Battle for Warsaw" w wydaniu  kanadyjskim.
Liczylismy na obecnosc anglojezycznej widowni   i….. nie pomylismy
sie.

Cieszyla obecnosc grupy mlodych, juz anglojezycznych  ludzi, ktorzy
przyszli zapoznac sie z przezyciami swoich dziadkow a jednoczesnie z
pewnym  rozdzialem  naszej   narodowej  historii.

Jest pewne, ze tego rodzaju wydarzenia ksztaltuja, i  to  przez wiele
pokolen, nasz wspolny sposob postrzegania swiata a w kolejnych
pokoleniach, zaszczepiaja  wartosci najwyzsze .

Mimo uplywu lat wydarzenia te ciagle jeszcze budza silne emocje .
Dzis dysponujemy juz pelniejsza i szersza wiedza historyczna  o
tamtych dniach a mimo to wciaz trudno jeszcze mowic o tym w konwencji
chlodnej analizy.

W Piatek, 09/06/06 w lokalu  klubu Mount Weverly Community Centre
odbylo sie spotkanie z Dr Bogumila Zongolowicz – poetka, pisarka,
dziennikarka, biografem powojennej Polonii Australijskiej.

Tematem spotkania byla:

KRYSTYNA JACKIEWICZ – POETKA Z TASMANII

Bogumila Zongolowicz przygotowala ostatnio do druku tom wierszy
Krystyny Jackiewicz i jest to juz trzecia publikacja ksiazkowa tej
Autorki.

Ta ostatnia publikacja czeka na oficjalna promocje, ktora odbedzie
sie podczas festiwalu "Pol Art " w Hobart.

Przed paru laty goscilismy Pania Bogumile  rowiez kiedy miala
interesujaca prelekcje na temat Chciuka i jego tworczosci co bylo
tematem Jej pracy doktorskiej.

Dala sie wowczas poznac jako osoba, ktora mocno angazuje sie
emocjonalnie w przedmiot swioch badan, o wyostrzonym zmysle
obserwacji, refleksyjna i o niespozytej energii.

Tak samo zaprezentowala sie raz jeszcze na ostatnim spotkaniu na
ktorym zapoznala sluchaczy dodatkowo z fragmentami swojej poezji.
Po spotaniu byl czas na pytania i dyskusje.

Mozna wyrazic nadzieje ze w niedlugim czasie bedzie znowu
mozliwosc posluchania interesujacej prelekcji na temat nowej,
Polonijnej publikacji Pani Bogumilly. Zyczymy Jej dalszych sukcesow.
