I agree. There's a lot of this going around. I know that the RSPCA in NSW will
not contact breed club rescue groups, even if they have a waiting list of
screened people. They seem to much rather spend their money on fighting breeders
about docking, and I'm sure that is just the first. I would have thought that
dogs' homes, etc., would have a mission statement or something that would
mention that their actions are for the sake of the animals, but I think they are
looking at it rather strangely these days. I have to admit that I was a Junior
member of the RSPCA and one year raised the second largest amount for them
selling badges. But they focused on helping the animals then. Maybe if they
won't release her and it looks like she'll be put down, we might have to get
onto the Ozshow list or something and pass the hat for her. I'll certainly put
my hand in my pocket. How can someone have a beautiful girl for that long, and
just when she'll start to need them, dump her? Some people are
unbelievable! Although there was a story in the National Dog about a Bassett
that was found living in a hole under a pier. He was in a bad way, & , although
the author didn't go into detail, they said that through tradgedy, he was
waiting for someone who never could return to him (Wendy cried here). So I guess
there's a slim chance that something like that happened. We have a cat here in
the cattery who is now looking for a new home as his Mum has to go into a
Nursing home.
Anyone want a cat?
