Hi everyone.
John has come through the operation but is in ICU still. Lots of tubes

didn't read it carefully enough.
I too will say a prayer for your hubby, and I hope his recovery won't
take too long.

Hi Irena,
Sorry my wording was a little poor.
Thanks Deb for sorting it out.
I suppose I might not be thinking clearly at the moment. So much going on
here.
My hubby (John) is going into hospital on Sunday to be operated on on Monday
for a repair or replace a Mitral Valve . It is open heart surgery and he
will be laid up for a long time. If I dont get back to the list during the
next couple of weeks I am sure you will understand.

No. I have never produced any sh's from 2 lh's.

If you mate 2 lh's your litter will be all lh"s.
If you mate sh to lh and the sh is not a carrier you can end up
with all sh's but with a denser coat.
If you have sh & lh and the sh is a carrier (as in my last litter)
you will get a mixtur of lh's & sh's.
If you have sh to sh and both are carriers you can end up with
1 or 2 lh's rest sh.

Hi Caron,

DIdn't get enquiry for Vic, did get one from Tasmania but they
decided not to go ahead as the bitch they already had didn't
seem to like a puppy they brought over for her to see.
I have 1 short hair male still and a possible long hair female. I
haven't decided which one I am keeping or if I will run her on to
see what she is like. Kurt is keeping the long haired boy to
show.

Hi Irena,
In my experience it seems to be in the lap of the gods who gets coat and who
doesnt.
The best coat I have ver seen came from two shorthaired parents whos lh
connection was a few generations back!
I have also bred long to long and had very ordinary coats. The most
interesting part of the question is that shorts from lh parents or with lh
behind them have a better coat as in not so sparce. Breeding longs to short
is beneficial for both breeds as the longs here need the larger gene pool
and the shorts need better coats. My opinion anyway.

Hi Irena,
I have had dogs form 2 LH and 1LH & 1 SH and I have found
the lengths of coat to be no different. Sometimes I get a wavy
coat on a LH then I can get a smooth LH.
Others may find it different. I know the puppies I have at the
moment have a wonderful coat. Mum is a LH and Dad a SH.

I have been asked the following question about LH Weims:

Do LH puppies out of two CARRIERS have shorter coats than those born
out of LH parents?

I guess this has been discussed somewhere on this list but I can't find
where.

Thanks in advance,
Irena

Bush and Osama decided to settle the war once and for all. They sat down
and decided to end the whole dispute with one dog fight. They would have 5
years to breed the best fighting dog in the world and whichever side's dog
won, would be entitled to dominate the world.

Osama found the biggest, meanest Doberman and Rottweiler female dogs in the
world an bred them with the meanest Siberian wolves. They selected only the
biggest and strongest puppy from the litter, and removed his siblings, which
made him the meanest dog the world had ever seen. It's cage needed steel
bars that were 5 inches thick and nobody could get near it.

When the day came for the dog fight, Bush showed up with a strange-looking
animal! It was a 9 foot long Dachshund.

Everyone felt sorry for Bush because there was no way that this dog could
possibly last 10 seconds with the Afghani dog.

When the cages were opened up, the Dachshund came out of it's cage, and
slowly waddled over towards Osama's dog.

Osama's dog snarled and leaped out of it's cage and charged the American
Dachshund--- but when it got close enough to bite, the Dachshund opened it's
mouth and consumed Osama's dog in one bite.

There was nothing left of his dog at all.

Osama came over to Bush, shaking his head in disbelief.

"We don't understand how this could have happened. We had our best people
working for 5 years with the meanest Doberman and Rottweiler female dogs in
the world and biggest, meanest Siberian Wolves."

"That's nothing,," said Bush. "We had Michael Jackson's plastic surgeons working
for 5 years to make that alligator look like a wiener dog."

Hi everyone, just got some news from another Weimaraner list. Longhairs
will be able to be shown in Canada from January of next year. I bet some
nice longhairs will be winging their way north. You have to wonder how long
America will hold out. Unfortunately the AKC will not allow any varieties to
be deemed seperate breeds, so if and when they do, they will be in the same
ring as the smooths.

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know Australia has a new Grand longhair, Grand Champion
Sinaway Quest For Gold, Brodie. He finished on Sunday at Sutherland ABKC.
Congratulations to his co-owners Ray and Margaret Johnson and breeders Caron
and John Hill who have now bred their second Grand Champion, they also had
the honour of breeding the first ever with Gr Ch Sinaway Kaltegrad Kurt (AI)
who was also from the first AI litter of Weis ever in Oz as well, and is
Brodie's grandfather. Brodie is, as far as I know, the third male, and
fourth longhair Grand. He is handled by Sue Norbury, who Brodie enjoys
arguing with LOL! Just in time for the Nationals Catalouge!

Hi Taria,
Welcome. I think this is the story of the boy that just arrived here in
Australia, just a bit scrambled. He was born in the USA, his mother was
an import, his father was the pup of two imports. His owner passed
away, and my understanding is that he was in a foster home there, and
was sent to Australia. He is now out of quarantine and the pics I have
seen look very nice. I know I am looking forward to seeing him at our
National.
Wendy
