While I was in England, to get her daughter mated, Mowgli was entered
in a show in Germany. She was the only LH and came first out of one,
hehehe. Yes, we peeps in Europe do get lucky every now and then. But it
wasn't that easy. The judge was quite strict and she didn't give many
excellents that day.
Anyway, to make a long story short, she gained a CACIB and BOB, which
makes her INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION!!!
I'm really proud of my little girl and everything she's achieved so
far.

Here is a story about the dog genome and what has been discovered so far. Here's
hoping it opens the door to testing, treatment and the end of some of the things
that befall our best friends.
Go to www.world-science.net/ and you will see the story with a pic of Boxer,
probably the one that enabled so much of this to be done.

Well, I didn't really have any goals, but I'm very happy with my
girls. Daan made it to Dutch show champion this year.
She did extremely well on fieldtrials, which made her best Weim of
this year I guess. And now I'm off to England (in 2 hours!!!), for a
mating!!! I'm so excited!!
Mowgli did very well too. She achieved her natural ability test
fieldwork, with maximum points. She also gained a blood tracking
title. Only one out of 8 dogs that competed that day, made it to the
end of the track, and that was Mowgli. With this title, she can make
it to international champion. I've already entered her in a foreign
show, so keep your fingers crossed that we'll get that point.
Goals for next year????
Make Daan into an international champ as well. Breed a healthy litter.
Make bith girls Luxembourgs champ. And then we go on with the
fieldwork and tracking. I'll also start the training for the VGP.
Don't think we'll make it this year, since she'll be having a litter
(hopefully).
If not, 2007 it is, together with Crufts!!!!

I have :-) And I am so happy we did as I am on moternetyleave whit our
now 15 months son and don't have neither the tiome nor the money to do
all I would like to do....

We have during this year:

Started and passed obidienceclass 1 (came in 2:nd place of 12)

Started and passes "working dog" novice obidienceclass - tracking and
gotten mowed up to next class (We came in 1st place of 12!!) In sweden
we call this sport appelklass - spår :-)

Gotten our blood-tracking champion titel

Started using Indy as a trackingdog in the hunts here. His first track
was ower 24 h old and two other dogs had tryed to find the hurt moose,
but faield. But Indy tracked non-stop för 3!! hours and found the (now
dead) moose. He was the first weim ever in this huntingteam and I was
the first girl ever. One of the hunters had been to germany and hunted
with weimaraners in the 70:s and he was wery impressed by Indy, so
that was twise as fun.

Gotten to work on the fields 2 times and gotten to see how my dog
worked non stop searching after birds.

Started in 1 show where he got BOB but didnt behave well in the finals
(he djumpt arond more than he ran...he just TO happy sometimes) The
djudge said she would love to place him next time IF he ran as he
should.

Trained a lot of agility so that we can start competing next year.

SO for next year:

Get him to run the right way at indoors-shows. And show him at least 1
time. (Don't really like to show..prefer working with my dog)

Start and pass obidienceclass 2 and get at least a 2:nd price in
obidienceclass 3 (you need a 1st to pass)

Start and pass lower class obidience - tracking (the working dog class
after novice - tracking)

Start and pass lower class obidience - messengerdog (you can sart all
the lowerclass trials after passing noviceclass in on of the forms.
The forms are: tracking, searching, messengerdog and protection)

Start competing in agility and getting clear-rounds.

Train him alot more in fieldwork (if I can afford it) and hopefully
start in a trial.

Start training him in protection so that we can start him in a trial
2007.

Do the "working dog" mentality test (KORNING) and get a high score.

I really LOVE this versatile breed :-)

WHAT HAVE YOUR GOALS BEEN F0R 2005??? AND WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR
2006??

Does anyone know if you can restore info deleted from a floppy? Two day's work.
It was deleted by accident, and I checked in my desktop just in case, but
nothing. I got two undelete programs, one doesn't like XP, the other wasn't a
full program.
   Any hope?

Sorry Caron, don't remember, but Judy and (I forget who else - I'm dreadful with
names) showed me Lugar, and a longhair girl that I am sure was his.

With the car, to let everyone know, the motor blew up JUST before Melbourne
Royal, in fact, I picked it up from the mechanic the day before I left. That was
late September. Mid November, on the way to Sydney to meet Caron, it died and
left me stranded with my Zed on the side of the road. They would not let me take
her in the tow truck, no matter how big the tantrum was that I was having, and
she had to stay in the van as it was pulled up on the back of the tow truck. The
motor had a waranty, but I don't have a lot of trust in these people, and so
expected them to try to worm out of it. I was very surprised when they not only
came and got it, but left me a little ute to use while it was away. I went and
got it yesterday. I was still expecting them to want money, or try to blame me
for something, but nothing. I have it back, but the original motor was the best.
During the time, I had three in the Spring Fair in Sydney, but only a Lazer to
get there. So I packed Phantom and one crate
into it and off I went. I had to tie the crate to the back of the headrest so
it stayed up and gave him enough room. The girls are both titled, one an
In-Group winner, and as it turned out, they were both the only bitches for their
breed entered, and Phantom got dumped. Oh well! You pay your money, you make
your choice. I have finally been able to get a handler, as I just can't show
him, and Maree just will not move to the mainland! Guilt trip, Maree!
So now I just need to reschedule that trip.

Over the weekend Kurt and I went to Cooma & District Kennel and
Obedience Show.

On Saturday Kurt's long haired Weimaraner baby - Happylea Kings Silver
(Harm)- won Best Baby in the Gundog Group under Mr G Minchinton (Qld)
and then Mr G Love (NSW) gave him Baby in Show.

Then on Sunday Mr G Love again awarded him Best Baby in the Gundog

Thankyou very much to both the Judges for placing our dog.

Ingrid... CONGRATULATIONS on the superb placements!!!! We are so
proud of you all!!!! What a team!!! Just got an email from a very
tired Maree.... :)))) I CAN imagine, I was showing Audry on Sunday in
Best Junior In Show and we were "unfortunate" enough to make it to
the final cut of 8 best juniors in show.... Which meant we had to
stand for a while yet, then move, stack and restack... My legs are
SORE and I am walking around like a Chow-chow... Maree must be
exhausted!!

HI
I took lots of photos of different dogs so will search thru this weekend. He is
a lovely dog, lots of strength, moves well, very nice typical strong head,
definitely a boy with coat, I would not hesitate to recommend him as a stud or
father of a pup.
He is by Ch Waldweise Ndoubt about it who is a very nice boy as well (shorthair
carrier) from the quality waldweise kennels.
It was a well deserved win. He goes back to Bromhund lines and Smokeydees as
well all good lines.

He reminds me a bit of digger and zeus!

I have him in mind for a future stud. I just need to make sure my girls are not
too close as we have some lines in common.

The show was great and the committee were really welcoming. I had a great time.
They did a great job. Probably the results and photos will come out soonest on

Cheers you all

WOW! Congrats! My breeder was there and she said she loved the show and didn't
miss cold Sweden at all. But who is the dog that won BIS?

Ämne: Re: [Weimaraner_Longhaired] Mowgli earned an official blood tracking title

hi everyone
just got back from the national and how fantastic was it to have a longhair take
best in show again. 2 out of 3 nationals go to the longhairs. Go longhairs. Good
going Sue and Trish!
Expect every tom dick and harry who wants to win the national in 5 years time
will suddenly add a longhair or two to their revenue.
Best in show winner was a beauty and looked just like the shorthair (except
hairy)when doing the laps for best in show so you cant fault the judge for
liking that type.
Grausturm knls was ecstatic to receive 7 placings for 10 progeny (range of
handlers/owners)
incl 1st puppy longhair and longhair breed Grausturm Love in the
mist with no challenges (handled by Petra Westbury)
1st puppy dog weimaraner Grausturm Little Devil (class of 5)
1st intermediate bitch longhair Ch Grausturm Jewel Othmile and reserve challenge
and graded excellent and beaten for intermediate in show by BEST in show
(handled maree pledger)
1st open bitch weimaraner Ch Grausturm in the mist
class of 34 (handled on the day by Maree pledger)
3rd open dog weimaraner class of 23 - the litter mate Grausturm IMa tassi devil
(owned by wendy laigne stuart)graded excellent
3rd junior longhair (class of 6) (handled Liesl albion)
2nd intermediate longhair (owned by Sandra Harvey)graded excellent
also 2 others graded excellent Grand Ch Grausturm Clever Misty TDX ET handled by
Kevin Hill and Annie Haverkamp
and Grausturm Hearts Afire

Special thanks to all those people at wei national who made this such a pleasant
time - what a great bunch of people and cant wait to see you all again.

Sunday was the official blood tracking contest, organised by the Dutch
Weim Club. Eight dogs competed, all Weims (3LH's and 5 SH's). Meike
(co-owner of Mowgli and my best friend for ages) handled Mowgli today.
Well, not only today, she always handles Mowgli when it comes to the
blood tracking. She's better at it.
Since we've had a pretty rough year with the puppies and the speying,
we haven't really had the time to train her properly. But the times we
had time to train, she did perfect.
Anyway, our last practice was 2 weeks ago at a friends. It was a blind
track and Mowgli did perfect on this track. So there was some hope for
last sunday.
Unfortunataly Meike is very nervouss at tests. That's why I thought
they'd never make it, but thank goodness they proved me wrong. It
wasn't perfect, but Meike and Mowgli were the only ones with a
qualification!!!!
I think I´m even happier with this than with the FT qualifications I
achieved with Daan this season!!! That's because it's very, very hard
to earn an official (FCI-official) bt-qualification in Holland.
I am soooo proud!!!!
