From sire Charmist Looking forward at Longtails x dam Dutch show
champion Mowgli Proudly Presents Daan W'04.
Dad is a real English gentleman. He's a gorgeous looking stud from
excellent lines. Especially his dad's side is a true working line.
Daan is from working stock as well. Mom is an excellent HPR and Daan
inherited this from her. She's achieved several fieldtrial
qualifications (1st, 2nd and 3rd prices and certificates of merit).
She's also passed the German tests (VJP and HZP) with success. Daan is
one of the better fieldtrial dogs in our group in Holland at the
moment.
Both parents are hip scored. For more information check out my website

Oh Sylvia, I am so sorry! I lost my dog of a life time in just the same way 20
years ago, and I still grieve for her. Please know tears are being shed for you
here in Australia.
I have a forever-puppy too, and he would do just the same thing. Nothing
anyone says can make this feel better, you just have to remember you gave him a
wonderful life and as much love as anyone could, and that he will be with you
forever.
   You are in my prayers,
   Wendy
(just to let list members know so that Sylvia doesn't have to go into it,
Bo-ghy died tragically in a road accident)

Lovely Bo-ghy we will miss you. You were a wonderfull dog who always made us

They say memories are golden

well maybe that is true

I never wanted memories,

I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,

a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you

you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,

In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place

no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway

and heartache make a lane,

I'd walk the path to heaven

and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,

and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one,

the chain will link again.

Have I achieved my goals for 2005? In a word, no. Not one. Nothing at all. I
have found having the boarding kennel too much for me. Working 7 days a week,
with being closed only 5 days a year (and of course, that is the office is
closed, we still have the dogs!) is a good way to never get to do anything at
all with your dogs. So I have recently (just yesterday) decided to sell it. It
is a shame, it is gundog heaven. 40 acres cleared, plus another 100 that is
mainly bush, 4 dams, big runs and only 20 minutes from the middle of the Capital
of Australia (and fabulous restaurants!) is great, but my dogs sit there day
after day, and learn nothing new. Someone with GSPs wants to buy it, so the
headache can be someone elses. So next year, I have goals. For the first 6
months I will NOT get up before 10 every morning. I will take the phone off the
hook for long periods of time. I will take my dogs for long walks on the beach,
as we will be living on 16 acres only 30 mins from some of the
most beautiful beaches in the world on the Far South Coast of NSW. I will go
back to my art work, I am part way through my degree at the National Institute
of the Arts in Ceramics and Glass. So watch for some original Wei sculptures. I
will have glasses of red wine on the verandah of the 140 year old house, while
looking over the paddocks and lush gardens, and orchard. Oh yes, Lara hits the
trial ring, too!
So the future is full of Lawyers and cardboard boxes, and MY dogs, for a
change!
   Wendy

Hi Petra,

I see there is not many response on your mail.

Well here comes my response then ;-)

Our goal with Vidar was to get qualifications on the field with him.

Well we made that with a Spring and Autumn qualification on the field.

So we are very happy with to have qualificationd in both seasons.

We had put a lot of training in this.

Next to that we als trained for the retrieving, but didn’t do any trials /
tests on that.

For next year. We hope to make him Dutch and International Champion.

Further our plans for the beginning of the year are a little bit unsure, but
if we can we will do the “Obedience- and Retrievingtest” from our
Weimaranerclub and the “Bloodtracking and Draggingtest” of our
Weimaranerclub. If he made them he earns the “predicate of natural ability”
from our Weimaranerclub. If we can not do it both in the beginning of next
year we will do that the year after.

In the Autumn next year we want to do a KNJV test (retrievingtest) with
Vidar.

And maybe we want to do some Open Class fieldtrials next year. Also
depending of we can do it. Everything is now a little bit unsure ;-)

With Felicia we want to start on the fieldtrials. And later in the year do
the “Talenttest Fieldwork” from our Weimaranerclub.

Further we want to do some shows with her. And fromof next year we also can
achieve the Youthchampion tittle.

Further we want to try to get some of Lara her puppies at shows and maybe to
do some huntingtests as well.

The 1 in Denmark is planing to compete with Baxter in the fieldtrials this
Spring already. I hope he can make that.

Maybe we go to Sweden next year in the Autumn then I hopefully can finish
the SVCH with Lara, she is only one 1st price left from that ;-)

It would be nice if she can make it the last time.

We have to see which dogs we take with us to Sweden. To see what we further
are going to do.

We are planning to do some fieldtrials there as well, to see how the trials
are over there.

So we also have to do the “Eftersökgrenarna” before that.

Further if we are there we want to do the Bloodtracking as well with Vidar.

The only thing we have to find out is if the show must be done in Sweden to
make the championatitle official.

IF that is so we also have to do a show over there.

So it will be a busy holiday then in Sweden. ;-)

I have :-) And I am so happy we did as I am on moternetyleave whit our
now 15 months son and don't have neither the tiome nor the money to do
all I would like to do....

We have during this year:

Started and passed obidienceclass 1 (came in 2:nd place of 12)

Started and passes "working dog" novice obidienceclass - tracking and
gotten mowed up to next class (We came in 1st place of 12!!) In sweden
we call this sport appelklass - spår :-)

Gotten our blood-tracking champion titel

Started using Indy as a trackingdog in the hunts here. His first track
was ower 24 h old and two other dogs had tryed to find the hurt moose,
but faield. But Indy tracked non-stop för 3!! hours and found the (now
dead) moose. He was the first weim ever in this huntingteam and I was
the first girl ever. One of the hunters had been to germany and hunted
with weimaraners in the 70:s and he was wery impressed by Indy, so
that was twise as fun.

Gotten to work on the fields 2 times and gotten to see how my dog
worked non stop searching after birds.

Started in 1 show where he got BOB but didnt behave well in the finals
(he djumpt arond more than he ran...he just TO happy sometimes) The
djudge said she would love to place him next time IF he ran as he
should.

Trained a lot of agility so that we can start competing next year.

SO for next year:

Get him to run the right way at indoors-shows. And show him at least 1
time. (Don't really like to show..prefer working with my dog)

Start and pass obidienceclass 2 and get at least a 2:nd price in
obidienceclass 3 (you need a 1st to pass)

Start and pass lower class obidience - tracking (the working dog class
after novice - tracking)

Start and pass lower class obidience - messengerdog (you can sart all
the lowerclass trials after passing noviceclass in on of the forms.
The forms are: tracking, searching, messengerdog and protection)

Start competing in agility and getting clear-rounds.

Train him alot more in fieldwork (if I can afford it) and hopefully
start in a trial.

Start training him in protection so that we can start him in a trial
2007.

Do the "working dog" mentality test (KORNING) and get a high score.

I really LOVE this versatile breed :-)

WHAT HAVE YOUR GOALS BEEN F0R 2005??? AND WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR
2006??

Congratulations Marjolein.
You have to look it the other way.
The judge could have not awarded (which we know that they
can do.) It shouldn't matter that you are the only one.
Obviously she deserved her win.

Here is a story about the dog genome and what has been discovered so far. Here's
hoping it opens the door to testing, treatment and the end of some of the things
that befall our best friends.
Go to www.world-science.net/ and you will see the story with a pic of Boxer,
probably the one that enabled so much of this to be done.

Well, I didn't really have any goals, but I'm very happy with my
girls. Daan made it to Dutch show champion this year.
She did extremely well on fieldtrials, which made her best Weim of
this year I guess. And now I'm off to England (in 2 hours!!!), for a
mating!!! I'm so excited!!
Mowgli did very well too. She achieved her natural ability test
fieldwork, with maximum points. She also gained a blood tracking
title. Only one out of 8 dogs that competed that day, made it to the
end of the track, and that was Mowgli. With this title, she can make
it to international champion. I've already entered her in a foreign
show, so keep your fingers crossed that we'll get that point.
Goals for next year????
Make Daan into an international champ as well. Breed a healthy litter.
Make bith girls Luxembourgs champ. And then we go on with the
fieldwork and tracking. I'll also start the training for the VGP.
Don't think we'll make it this year, since she'll be having a litter
(hopefully).
If not, 2007 it is, together with Crufts!!!!
