Crikey the news just keeps on getting better. Got an ecstatic phone call from
irena in latvia this morning to say that Audry has just won Best IN Show at the
specialty and gundog specials. Apparently that includes all the sight hounds,
hound dogs and heaps of other breeds too. Audry is Multi champion Grausturm Love
Is a Drug and the littermate to our longhair Mischka.
cheers ingrid, bill and the grausturm gang.

It is with great pleasure that I announce another Australian Champion.
Yesterday 2/7/06 Happylea Kings Silver received his final points.
(He already was well over 150 points when he turned 1 in June)
Hi Ingrid,
Just to let you know Happylea Kings Silver (Harm) went BOB
again on the Sunday under the Uk Judge Mr T Smith and Atlas
his father went Australian Bred in Show. Unfortunately no
longhairs went up in Show on the Sunday.

Hi everyone
I meant to go online and let people know how we went at Sydney Easter and
Weimaraner specialty.
This was my daughter, Liesl's first time handling at sydney royal with her own
dog: junior longhair bitch Grausturm Live the Dream. She took reserve challenge
bitch at Sydney Royal and then at the specialty took BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW. She
was very excited as she beat all the junior shorthairs which added up to about 9
dogs. The judge was a weimaraner specialist from America DR Dana Massey.
It is great to see the longhairs come up against their shorthair counterparts
and win so convincingly under specialist judges. Intermediate in show was also a
longhair - owned by Judy Glover and the Best of Breed longhair was a lovely
young male owned by Debbie neumann who made a good challenge for in show but was
beaten on the day.
I am feeling confident that our longhairs are certainly holding their own and on
a level playing field should win as often as their shorthair counterparts.
Interestingly often their parents or grandparents which are shorthairs are
placed at the same shows - for example: our shorthair male Wylie Ch Grausturm
glitter Bug was placed first in open dog (another large class). He is the
grandsire of our junior longhair bitch. Also Peter Kings shorthair male Atlas (i
think grand ch greysouthern kings legend is his name) was placed 2nd and he is
the sire of the lovely longhair male to take best of breed.
Another pleasing result was to see Judy glovers longhair male take 1st place in
sire and progeny against the shorthair males.
Go the longhairs!!!

Hi all.
Well If I remember rightly Ch Bromhund Laura shown in canberra many years
ago was the first. I think she went BIS also. She was from the first full
long to long mating in Australia and they were born before I was in
Weimaraners so before 1981. If I remember I will ask Rosemary on the
weekend. I did think to ask if it was Trudi that won at Yass and it was.
See you at the show tomorrow. I am helping Judy Glover but not entered.
Around when entries were closing for these shows John and I had made the
decision to separate and everything was up in the air and entering a show
just didnt seem important at the time. All the dogs are now transferred over
into my name alone. John is dropping out.

Hi Caron,
I didn't go to Yass, but I would bet it was Ch Bromhund Unique Trudi. She is
co-owned by Mayhews and Greywei, and based in Canberra. Neither are on the list.
They generally do all the local shows. Is this the first Best In Group for a LH
in Australia?

Hi All,
I heard that last weekend a Longhair female was placed best in group at
Yass. Anyone know who it was? Why hasnt it been on the list?
Was it the intermediate bitch from the National?
